The original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, along with Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Forest Whitaker, Helena Bonham Carter, Daniel Radcliffe, Teri Hatcher and Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson), are scheduled to appear on Idol Gives Back, a two-night special airing Tuesday, April 24 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, April 25 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Idol Gives Back will raise awareness and funds for organizations that provide relief programs to help children and young people in extreme poverty in America and Africa....

FX has picked up its critically acclaimed drama series Damages for an additional two seasons ordering 26 episodes from KZK Productions, Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions, announced FX President and General Manager John Landgraf. Damages wrapped up the first season October 23 and production of season two is slated to begin early next year in New York. “FX is proud of our status as a leader in fostering bold, high quality scripted programming,” said Landgraf....

HBO has many PlayStation gamers excited after announcing their plans to develop a TV series based on the hit game The Last of Us this week, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau appears to be among the frontrunners of social media fantasy casting suggestions to play the show’s live-action Joel. Of course, Coster-Waldau is no stranger to the network, as he’s best known for his starring role on the HBO series Game of Thrones as Sir Jaime Lannister....

Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson hasn’t been seen for nearly six years since his days playing television’s most-hated villain, but the 27-year-old will soon be back on the small screen. According to a new report, Gleeson will be starring on the upcoming BBC comedy series Out Of Her Mind from comic Sara Pascoe. Juliet Stevenson, Cariad Lloyd, and rapper Scroobius Pip also star. No details have yet been revealed about Gleeson’s new character, but it’s safe to assume the role will be much less dastardly than the vile King Joffrey Lannister....

Game of Thrones arguably reached its height of popularity with its most recent episodes this past spring. The return of the show in 2016 proved to be so popular, it was the only entertainment related trending topic in Twitter’s top ten list. And while the wait for Season 6 and the true fate of Jon Snow was excruciating, the wait for Game of Thrones Season 7 is even more taxing on fans as it has been pushed to a summer premiere date....

Jack Reacher writer-director Christopher McQuarrie is finalizing a deal to rewrite the Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse for Paramount Pictures. The filmmaker may possibly direct as well, although that has not been set in stone yet. The project has been in development at the studio for years, with John Singleton attached to direct way back in October 2006. We also reported in October 2010 that The Shield creator Shawn Ryan took a crack at the script....

With the NBC upfronts coming next week, the network made a few preemptive moves by renewing the cult-hit series Chuck and canceling first-season shows The Event and Law & Order: Los Angeles. The Chuck pick-up comes with a caveat though: the upcoming fifth season will be Chuck’s last. NBC ordered 13 new episodes of Chuck, which means the show will likely wrap up sometime in December, with a new series taking over the Monday 8 PM time slot....

Just over one month after first announcing Transformers: Robots in Disguise will debut on The Hub in 2015, the network debuted the first footage from this animated series during Hasbro Studios’ Comic-Con 2014 panel this morning. The story is set years after Transformers: Prime, centering on Bumblebee bringing a new team of Autobots to Earth. According to the footage you’ll see below, these transformers interact with a young boy who sees them transform right before his very eyes....

Julie Andrews, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, and Gabriel Byrne have joined the adaptation Crooked House for director Neil LaBute. It isn’t known what roles any of these actors will portray. Crooked House is based on the Agatha Christie novel of the same name, which hasn’t been previously adapted for film or television. The story centers around the murder of a multi-millionaire and all of his family members who have cause to want him dead....

It is well known that the journey of Obi-Wan Kenobi to his Disney+ series has gone through many changes since it was originally envisioned as a movie, and it seems that some of the biggest changes involved the introduction of Darth Vader and cutting of a live-action return for Ray Park as Darth Maul. There is a lot of secrecy around the upcoming show, but that doesn’t mean that there are not some stories coming out about what might have been in the newest addition to the Star Wars franchise....

Two months after the shocking events of The Walking Dead mid-season premiere, where it was revealed that Chandler Riggs’ beloved character Carl Grimes had been bitten in the torso by a walker, Carl took his last breath on the mid-season premiere, Honor. It had long since been confirmed that Carl will be killed in the Season 8 mid-season premiere, despite Walking Dead comic book creator Robert Kirkman suggesting that he might not die....

Dimension Films is proud to announce that Clive Barker, whose spine-tingling films have terrified audiences across the globe, is set to team with Dimension Films to remake his most celebrated thriller, Hellraiser. Barker will write the screenplay and serve as a producer. Anthony Diblasi and Joe Daley will co-produce the remake. No director or cast has been attached to the project yet. The announcement was made today by Bob Weinstein, Co-Chairman of The Weinstein Company....

You can bring home a hit 1987 dancing film home in brand new DVD and Blu-ray editions this May. Dirty Dancing will be released in a new Keepsake Edition on DVD and Blu-ray on May 4. We don’t have pricing details or cover art as of yet, but it was said that this new set will be packaged with a brand new 52-page hardcover book and also a $50 coupon towards a stay at Mountain Lake Hotel in Virginia, which served as the film’s “Kellerman’s Resort....

Disney’s A Christmas Carol, the spectacular 3D 2009 holiday release from director Robert Zemeckis and starring Jim Carrey, will be the first film from The Walt Disney Studios slated for IMAX theatres under a new five-picture arrangement the studio reached with IMAX Corporation, it was announced today by Mark Zoradi, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group. Disney’s A Christmas Carol will lead off an impressive slate of upcoming films from the Studio and a roster of top filmmakers that may include director Tim Burton as well as producer Jerry Bruckheimer....

Actor Sharlto Copley has provided a pretty promising update on the development of a sequel to District 9, revealing that both he and director Neill Blomkamp have written a draft of the script. Appearing on Post Credit Podcast, Copley offered some insight into the direction of the themes that will be included in District 10, and even stated that they are hoping to begin filming the project in a year or so....

Marvel Studios released some new footage from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as they announced tickets go on sale on Wednesday. A new trailer gave another look at some footage we have already seen, but as you would expect they have also teased some additional footage for fans to paw over as they await the movie arriving in theaters next month. This includes more footage of Wanda, Wong, the mystery figure who many have surmised to be Superior Iron Man, and a brand new creature that seems to be fighting on the same side as the good guys....

Doctor Who has been struggling to find its feet in the last few years after the revived show hit a peak with the combination of David Tennant’s Doctor and Russell T. Davies’ big visual storylines. One of the biggest issues facing the series has been a reduction in budget from BBC and a run of seasons that failed to engage audiences by having a huge focus on long monologues about social issues and not enough action scenes....

The second season of Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse will premiere Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox. Series creator and executive producer Joss Whedon will write and direct the episode that will set the stage for Season Two. In Dollhouse, Eliza Dushku stars as “Echo,” an “Active” in a highly illegal and underground group of individuals whose personalities have been wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas....

Counterculture icon Emily the Strange is on the road to the big screen, with Dark Horse Entertainment president Mike Richardson coming on board to produce a feature film that would tell the origin of the gothic figure and her four mysterious cats. Skateboarder Rob Reger created the character among a multitude of designs he was printing up for stickers, T-shirts and skateboards in Santa Cruz in the early 1990s. The Emily design took off, with Reger’s company, Cosmic Debris, going on to become a multimillion dollar business with toeholds in fashion, books and comics, toys, school supplies, and accessories....
