One of the horror films that genre fans have particularly enjoyed this year is X, the 70s-set slasher film from A24. Given the success of the acclaimed slasher, both a prequel and a sequel are currently in development. One person who was along for the ride from the start is executive producer Peter Phok of Phok Productions. Phok’s work on X will extend to both of its follow-up films. The filmmaker is also an executive producer on Graham Reznick’s Shudder series Deadwax and is an award-winning producer of several films directed by X helmer Ti West that also includes In a Valley of Violence, The Sacrament, and The House of the Devil....

It seems that for every Empire Strikes Back there’s a dozen or more Blues Brothers 2000s to put a bad name on sequels. It’s quite rare for sequels to be better than the original film, though it does happen from time to time. One such sequel that lives up to – and arguably surpasses – the original film is William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist III....

15 years since cancellation, legions of fans all over the world are still desperately hoping for new episodes of Firefly. The Joss Whedon created show only ran for one season, but made a really big impact in that brief time. Unfortunately, at the time, it wasn’t a big enough impact for Fox to keep it around. But times have changed and Fox has noticed that bringing back shows can work. That being the case, the network is reportedly interested in rebooting Firefly, but only if Joss Whedon returns....

Apparently you can get a look at a future Jerry Bruckheimer film inside his latest film. According to MTV Movies Blog, Bruckheimer revealed that he has hidden a poster for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time inside his upcoming film, Confessions of a Shopaholic, which stars Isla Fisher and opens on February 13. It was also said that the poster will feature star Jake Gylenhaal in full costume as Prince Dartan....
