FX has ordered a 13-episode second season of the drama series Tyrant, from Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning Executive Producer/Showunner Howard Gordon, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, the Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. Production of Tyrant is scheduled to begin next spring with the second season returning in the summer of 2015. Here’s what Nick Grad had to say in a statement regarding the renewal....
HBO has released a trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 3. Next week will mark the halfway point since there are only six episodes this season, which means we’re nearly at the end. Chris Noth, who played “Mr. Big” in the hit HBO television series Sex and the City, has signed on to reprise that role in the big screen adaptation of the series, it was announced today by New Line Production President Toby Emmerich. The hit comedy series Sex and the City is being brought to the screen by New Line Cinema in association with HBO. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all on board to reprise their roles and the show’s longtime executive producer, Michael Patrick King, is set to write and direct....
Christian Bale is in talks to star in The Creed of Violence for Universal Pictures and writer-director Todd Field (In the Bedroom). The story is adapted from Boston Teran’s novel, set during the 1910 Mexican Revolution. The plot follows Rawbone, a two-bit assassin, and John Lourdes, a Bureau of Investigation officer, who are forced to work together to penetrate the Mexican underworld. Christian Bale is in negotiations to play Rawbone, although there is no guarantee that a deal will be finalized....

While the Silence of The Lambs spin-off series Clarice didn’t receive the best reviews from critics, a month ago it looked like the series was going to be saved from the chopping block by making a move from CBS to Paramount+, with the show being promised a long run. After Adam Lambert’s recent AMA performance, I wrote a piece running down my thoughts on his misguided antics, his blatant use of his platform to promote and ‘glamorize’ (pun intended) his lifestyle and the way he betrayed American Idol and his fans from the show. Needless to say, a lot of users had opinions on the topic. Most, it seemed, disagreed with my perspective. So be it. English writer/director Neil Marshall first made a name for himself on this side of the pond with his critically acclaimed 2006 Horror film, The Descent. He followed that up in 2008 with the now fan-favorite film Doomsday, which was inspired by an assortment of different genre movies including Mad Max, Escape From New York, Excalibur, The Warriors, The Omega Man and Children of Men. Everybody knows that Disney boasts a massive catalog of films, and among them, one very popular bunch are princess movies. Doogie Howser is officially making a comeback in the form of a gender-swapped reboot. Disney+ has announced that the show has been picked up to series and will be released on the streaming service in 2021. Going under the working title Doogie Kealoha, M.D., this is billed as a re-imagining of the original ABC series that starred Neil Patrick Harris. Kourtney Kang (Fresh Off the Boat, How I Met Your Mother) is set to write and executive produce the series for Disney’s 20th Television....
Paramount Pictures is cutting ties with Dune after a four-year struggle to remake the classic Frank Herbert adaptation. Producer Richard P. Rubinstein holds the rights to the Frank Herbert novel and, after Paramount’s option ran out, an extension was not granted. Here’s what the producer had to say about his future plans for the project.
