Netflix has started to reveal its Christmas lineup, and fans of holiday movies are in for a treat. One of their new Christmas movies features the return of an iconic actress, skiing-induced amnesia, and perfectly-timed mistletoe. Falling for Christmas is the next in a line of popular films that include The Princess Switch trilogy, The Christmas Prince trilogy, and one-offs like Operation Christmas Drop and Love Hard. The movie was first announced by Netflix on Twitter, with Variety exclusively confirming the details on the same day in 2021....

When the BBC’s Doctor Who made history by naming Jodie Whitaker the 13th Doctor in July, most fans assumed that this new character would get a whole new look as well. Those fans were right, with the BBC unveiling the first photo of Jodie Whitaker in her full new costume, which is much more colorful that previous Time Lord costumes. It hasn’t been confirmed if this is the exact outfit we’ll see her in when she makes her Doctor Who debut during this year’s Christmas Special, or if it will be her costume for the upcoming Season 11 of the series....

Since the pioneering reality series debuted in 1989, Cops has cemented its place in history as one of the longest-running primetime entertainment programs. The 20th season premieres with back-to-back episodes on Saturday, Sept. 8 (8:00-8:30 PM and 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), and a commemorative one-hour special, Cops: 20 Years…Caught on Tape, airs Saturday, Sept. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Friends fans holding out for a revival series like Will and Grace or Roseanne can officially stop waiting. NBC executive Bob Greenblatt says that a new Friends series will never happen. The show ran from 1994 to 2004 and fans have been asking about a reunion since the show went off the air. Friends featured an ensemble cast starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, and revolves around six 20-30-something friends living in Manhattan....

Colin Farrell and Toni Collette have boarded DreamWorks’ comedy horror Fright Night, which is a remake of the cult 1985 film, according to Heat Vision. Also, Farrell has joined the Seth Gordon-directed New Line comedy Horrible Bosses, according to Deadline. They join Anton Yelchin in the Craig Gillespie-directed remake, which sticks to the original concept of a teen (Yelchin) being convinced that his new neighbor is a vampire, though no one will believe him....

For those anxious for more details on the newest project in Matt Reeves’s Batman universe, The Penguin, take it easy, sweetheart. Fresh news has come from none other than the Penguin crime boss himself, Colin Farrell. In a sit-down interview with Variety on their Award Circuit podcast, the award-winning actor revealed that the DC spin-off is slated to have eight episodes in its initial season. Farrell, who first astounded audiences with his unrecognizable portrayal of the popular villain in The Batman (2022), has gradually been revealing more and more details about The Penguin during the past few months, building the hype to the next suspenseful glimpse into the far grittier, darker world of Reeves’ Batman universe....

Iconic comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has died following a long illness, according to a statement released by his family today. Known for his unmistakable exaggerated voice, his often controversial comedy style, and his many TV and film roles, such as the voice of the parrot Iago in Disney’s Aladdin, Gottfried was known to multiple generations for his over-the-top style that was his calling card. HBO is staying in the Danny McBride business. The network has given a series order to his new comedy The Righteous Gemstones, which centers on a famous televangelist and his family who have a long history of deviance, greed and charitable work, all in the name of Jesus. McBride will star in the series alongside John Goodman as a father/son duo in the new half-hour comedy series which, at the present time, doesn’t have a premiere date....

Almost two weeks after Denzel Washington backed out of the Tony Scott-directed drama Unstoppable, the actor and 20th Century Fox have come to terms on a deal that will start production in the fall. According to Variety, pre-production on the film has resumed in Pittsburgh. Washington had been attached since April to reteam with Scott and play a veteran engineer who jumps into a locomotive with a young conductor (“Star Trek’s” Chris Pine) to stop an unmanned runaway train loaded with toxic cargo....

Previous screen versions of The Fantasic Four have included an appearance by Doctor Doom as the main villain. That may not be the case when the franchise is rebooted as part of the MCU in a few years’ time, as it seems Doom may not have anything other than a minimal appearance in the movie. This may not be what some Fantastic Four fans had hoped to hear, but if the rumors are true, it looks like Doom will not play a major role until later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe narrative....

Fans of HBO Max series Doom Patrol were given a DC FanDome treat today with the announcement that the show will be returning for a fourth season, and the debut of season three’s mid-season trailer. The series, which follows DC’s unlikely group of superheroes, aired its first two season on the DC Universe streaming app before moving exclusively to HBO Max for its third season, where it has joined other DC Universe shows such as Harley Quinn and Titans as Warner Bros continue to build their DC output on the platform....
