The Frasier revival at Paramount+ remains mysterious at the current time, but returning star Kelsey Grammer has now offered a few details into their approach to the characters all these years later. Along with revealing how much the blustery psychiatrist, has changed when he is reintroduced to audiences on Paramount+, Grammer also offered some insight into how far along they are in the production process. Frasier fans have been left wondering whether the revival will include any of the other beloved faces from the series’ original run, such as, David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, and Jane Leeves....

It hasn’t been the birthday Jeremy Renner thought he’d be having when he turned 52, but even while recovering in a hospital bed, the actor is getting a lot of love and birthday wishes from friends and fans. Among them is actor Chris Evans, who appeared with Renner in the Avengers movies. Earlier today, Comic-Con International unveiled the first part of their full Comic-Con 2017 schedule, featuring the events for Preview Night and all of Thursday. TV has certainly taken over at the Con, with most of the opening day’s biggest events centering on some of the biggest small screen favorites. After a six-year hiatus, we may finally be getting more of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this time as a feature film. According to reports from ShowbizSpy.com, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the teenaged vampire hunter for seven years on television, is in talks to reprise her role as Buffy Ann Summers in a film sequel to the series. Insider reports say that the idea for the script has the story picking up with an older Buffy, who might even be a mother....

Fox Filmed Entertainment has signed Darren Aronofsky and his production company Protozoa Pictures to a new two-year, overall deal, it was announced today. Under the deal, Protozoa will develop and produce films for both Twentieth Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures. Aronofsky’s debut picture under the pact will be The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman. Written by Oscar-winner Christopher McQuarrie, the film is scheduled to begin production in April next year....

The CW Network is looking to build on its slate of DC Comics characters by developing a TV series based on Hourman. The story centers on Rex Tyler, a brilliant pharmaceutical analyst who has been plagued by horrific visions since childhood. He comes to discover that these visions are actually tragedies that take place one hour in the future. Armed with this new gift, he becomes determined to win back his ex-wife and son by preventing these devastating events from happening....

Fox 2000 has acquired the rights to the Lauren Oliver novel Delirium. The acquisition is part of a deal that includes other properties from Oliver’s company, Paper Lantern Lit. Fox 2000 acquired the rights to Oliver’s first novel, Before I Fall last year. Here’s the plot description for Delirium below, from Lauren Oliver’s official website. Paula Mazur will produce the adaptation along with Mitchell Kaplan. No writer or director have been attached to Delirium yet....

Filmmaker Shawn Levy has come aboard to produce and possibly direct an untitled project for DreamWorks about the cult following of the Kodachrome film format. Jonathan Tropper will write the screenplay, which will be based off a New York Times article from December about the last Kodachrome facility in the country shutting down. Kodak launched its Kodachrome film line in 1935, which was the first still photography film that could capture color....

The format war wages on and it is no less interesting. In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, it seems “the steering committee of the DVD Forum has approved the final draft of a memorandum of understanding with the leading Chinese developer of optical discs, paving the way for the creation of a Chinese HD-DVD format.” This could lead to very inexpensive HD-DVD players, not just in China, but the rest of the world....

Dwayne Johnson has been once again sharing images of J.K. Simmons as Santa Claus in their new movie Red One. New Line Cinema has hired Ericson Core (Invincible) to direct Conrail, produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson’s Contrafilm. The studio has been developing the project since obtaining life rights two years ago to the story of Eddie Mongon, who spent a decade as a modern-day Robin Hood. According to Varieety, Mongon was the ringleader of the Conrail Boyz gang, which robbed trains using a combination of high-tech equipment and street smarts, and then shared the proceeds with the poor of Hoboken, N....

Slasher franchises are known for brutal kills, the targeting and terrorizing of potential victims, and usually a masked killer whose motive is as hidden as the face that is behind whatever horrific veil they’ve chosen to evoke fear. But it is the masks that become the most iconic visual of the movies and franchises as it symbolizes the unknown plight of the story as well as the fate of the characters....

Since both Marvel and Star Wars are owned by Disney, it’s only natural that the two mega-franchises would reference each other now and then. For one thing, it’s an excellent example of that classic business term “corporate synergy,” where its various brands can acknowledge and support each other through tie-ins, crossovers, or even a couple of well-placed references.
