It’s the end of the line for City on a Hill. Per Variety, it has been reported that Showtime is ending the series following the conclusion of its third season in September. There won’t be a fourth season coming, making the series finale that aired on Sept. 25 now serve as the season finale. According to the new report, however, Showtime had made the decision months ago under the watch of former Paramount Premium Group chairman and CEO David Nevins, who has since been succeeded by Chris McCarthy....

Fans, family, and friends alike lost a cherished personality in former teen icon Corey Haim, who died of an alleged prescription drug overdose earlier today. The actor, who made his big screen debut in the 1984 thriller First Born became quite popular in the 1980s, starring in a string of hit films that are now considered classics. Red-hot Scottish director David MacKenzie (“Hallam Foe”) has boarded the psychological drama Stain In the Snow, an adaptation of the 1948 novel by Georges Simenon, which Germany’s Studio Hamburg International is producing. Mackenzie will move to Stain in the Snow after finishing his U.S. feature film debut, the sex comedy Spread starring Aston Kutcher and Anne Heche. Set in an unnamed country obviously based on Nazi-occupied France, the novel is about a naive boy who descends into psychosis and depravity....

DC Daily has been canceled at DC Universe. The show was a major pillar of the streaming service, offering news, interviews and in-depth discussions on DC movies, TV shows, comics and more. Since 1971, only seven Canadian movies out of 47 submissions have ever been nominated in the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars, with 2003’s Les Invasions barbares being the sole winner. The last few times Canada was nominated in the category were for a string of French-Canadian movies of the 2010s: Denis Villeneuve’s Incendies in 2010; Philippe Falardeau’s Monsieur Lazhar in 2022; and Kim Nguyen’s Rebelle in 2012. Similar to the release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Marvel’s Eternals will be coming to Disney+ in the near future. The Chloe Zhao Marvel spectacle will make its debut on the streaming platform on January 12th, in line with the 45 days minimum theatrical exclusive window set out by Disney earlier in the year as per Streaming Guider. The film was originally released on November 5th, and has become another huge hit for Marvel Studios despite being stung with a lot of early negativity and dropping to the lowest rated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie on Rotten Tomatoes....
