20th Century Fox has hired screenwriters Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse (Us & Them) to write a new, untitled film based off the writings of journalist W. Hodding Carter, according to Risky Business Blog. The film will focus on the extreme measures Carter took with his family to cut down on spending. He decided to put his family on a budget of $550 a month, after mortgage payments, which lead to such bizarre activities as farming and raising chickens in their front yard, eating roadkill, making their own birthday gifts, bartering with neighbors and much more, and how the family found happiness in this way of life....

Netflix has finally released the first trailer for their upcoming anime adaptation, Cowboy Bebop, showing off footage from the science fiction neo-noir series. Developed by André Nemec, written by Christopher Yost, and starring John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda, Elena Satine, and Alex Hassell, Cowboy Bebop brings the popular anime series to live-action next month. Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan will make his directorial debut with the upcoming boxing blockbuster, Creed III, and while that may seem a daunting task for a first-time filmmaker, Jordan has been given key advice from some of the most successful directors out there. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jordan revealed that he has been speaking with the likes of Iron Man director Jon Favreau and A Star is Born’s Bradley Cooper, both of whom suggested he begin production on Creed III the same way....

Debra Messing is back as Molly Kagan, reprising her role from the award-winning mini-series The Starter Wife that’s now a full-fledged series on the USA Network. The series premiers October 10 and the series will run on Fridays at 10 PM ET on the USA Network. It seems as if Denis Villeneuve can’t keep his eyes from the stars. The director of 2021’s Dune has been signed on to direct another science fiction adaptation. This time the subject will be Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke. The project was picked up by Alcon Entertainment, who previously worked with Villeneuve on Prisoners and Blade Runner 2049. The rights to the novel had previously been under the control of Morgan Freeman and his partner Lori McCreary’s Revelations Entertainment....
