Some folks have the luxury of living each day to the fullest, but for Agnes every day is a grueling struggle for survival; her mother (Selma Blair) is strung-out on drugs, her home has been overrun by degenerates, and her only father figure is a pimp....

The buddy-cop comedy has been around since the early ’80s when Eddie Murphy first burst on to the scene with Nick Nolte in 48 Hours. It was perfected throughout that decade with films like Lethal Weapon and Midnight Run but the genre began to loose steam in the ’90s with cheap copycats like Loose Cannons (Dan Aykroyd and Gene Hackman) and Flashback (Dennis Hopper and Kiefer Sutherland). It had a bit of a renaissance period in the late ’90s and early ‘2000s with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker’s Rush Hour series but that too eventually ran its course....

When hearing of an upcoming beloved gaming franchise making the leap to film, most react with low and cynical expectations, and rightfully so after decades of disappointing results. FilmNation has acquired Guy Hibbert’s screenplay Eye in the Sky, which is being fast-tracked into production for Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall, The Invasion) to direct. The story follows a group of random characters across the globe, whose lives are affected by the decision to take out an East African home with a drone missile. This marks the second collaboration between Oliver Hirschbiegel and Guy Hibbert after the 2009 drama Five Minutes of Heaven....

The Keatons are finally getting back together, as the cast of Family Ties will soon reunite for charity on Stars in the House. Assembled to benefit The Actors Fund, the reunion will feature many original members of the classic sitcom’s cast, including Michael J. Fox (Alex P. Keaton), Meredith Baxter (Elyse Keaton), Michael Gross (Steven Keaton), Tina Yothers (Jennifer Keaton), Marc Price (Irwin “Skippy” Handelman), and Scott Valentine (Nick Moore). Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley will co-host the event....

The new Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi, stepped on set today for his first full day of filming as production begins on Season 8 of the hit BBC show. 10.2 million tuned-in on Christmas Day to get their first glimpse of Capaldi in one of TV’s most iconic roles in the festive special “The Time of the Doctor”, which saw Matt Smith hang-up his bow tie after 4 years in the role....

Netflix has unveiled some casting news about the highly anticipated Season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet, which premieres this spring. Joel McHale and Maggie Lawson guest star as Chris and Christa, married realtors in Santa Clarita who are described as a “more successful, more aggressive version” of Drew Barrymore’s Sheila and Timothy Olyphant’s Joel. In addition to McHale and Lawson, Gerald McRaney guest stars as Ed Thune, a retired army colonel who Joel finds very intimidating....

USA Today has revealed the first two photos of Angelina Jolie on the Columbia Pictures set of Salt, directed by Phillip Noyce. UPDATE: A new image of Angelina Jolie from this film has surfaced online. Take a look at the new image below. Starring Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the story centers on Evelyn Salt (Jolie), a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. She eludes capture by superiors who are convinced she is out to assassinate the president....

AMC is holding a huge panel for The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead during San Diego Comic-Con tomorrow, which is where the full trailer for season 9 of the hit series will rear its post-apocalyptic head. However, the network decided to offer up a tease of what’s to come with a brief but very compelling teaser that is sure to have fans asking some tough questions about what Rick and the gang are going to be facing this fall....

Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt has joined the cast of the Universal comedy Five-Year Engagement, with Rhys Ifans in talks to star as well. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt star in the movie as a long-term couple, with the comedy charting the highs and lows of the relationship. We reported yesterday that another NBC actor, Community’s Alison Brie, also joined the project, portraying Emily Blunt’s younger sister. It isn’t known what characters both Chris Pratt and Rhys Ifans will play in Five-Year Engagement....

Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, today unveiled the FOX primetime schedule for the 2011-2012 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Programming Presentation at The New Beacon Theatre.
“Nothing impacts culture the way a television show does,” said Rice. “And here at FOX, we have the most talked about, most followed, most creative shows that build connections between viewers and brands....

HBO is bringing the popular worlds of Westeros and Bon Temps to San Diego this summer. The network confirmed that Game of Thrones and True Blood will have a presence at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego next month. The Game of Thrones panel will be held in the monstrous Hall H on Friday, June 13. The 6,500-seat venue is normally reserved for blockbuster movies, although we reported a few weeks ago that Warner Bros....

You can bring home a 2000 remake home in high definition for the first time this August. Charlie’s Angels will be released on Blu-ray for the first time on August 3. This new BD disc will be priced at $24.95 SRP and you can take a look at the special features below. A brand new promo for Smallville is coming your way, and it shows that the remainder of Season Eight should be enough to thrill any Superman or Smallville fan. The CW has released the promo to air with Turbulence, which will air on Thursday, March 19, but you can watch it early courtesy of Entertainment Weekly’s Mike Ausiello. Some highlights from the promo include seeing Lois Lane in her superheroic identity of Stiletto, clips from the episodes Hex, Eternal and Stiletto, Chloe telling Clark “Up, up, and away” right before we see him leap a tall building in a single bound, and some important backstory behind the history of Clark and Doomsday, and their ultimate showdown....

The chicken may be little but that hasn’t stopped Chicken Little from nabbing the No. 1 spot on the sales charts. In an article from Home Media Retailing, Chicken Little took “the top spot on the national DVD sales chart for the week ended March 26, while New Line Home Entertainment’s A History of Violence remained the nation’s No. 1 rental for the second consecutive week.” Based on Neilsen Videoscan Data, Chicken Little “outsold second-ranked Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story, from Dreamworks Home Entertainment, by a nearly 4-to-1 margin....

Netflix will be ending the year the right way with the premiere of Cobra Kai season 4. This means we’re lucky enough to get two seasons in a single year, as season 3 debuted on the streamer at the start of the year. Ahead of the New Year’s Eve drop of the new episodes, an official poster has been released, teasing the big karate tournament that’s coming. Will its conclusion live up to the original brawl between Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence?...

ABC’s Once Upon a Time spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland has added Lost star Naveen Andrews, who made a surprise appearance at the show’s Comic-Con 2013 panel this morning. The actor will play Jafar, the villain from Disney’s 1992 animated hit Aladdin. The casting marks Naveen Andrews first U.S. TV role since Lost went off the air in 2010. Even with four TV shows based on DC Comics characters, producer Greg Berlanti is expanding his small screen superhero slate even more. The producer is teaming up with The Game creator Mara Brock Akil and her husband Salim Akil for a new superhero TV series based on the Black Lightning character. The show is currently being pitched to networks, so there is no guarantee that it could land at The CW, and we don’t know for sure if the network is even in the mix to pick up this show....
