We’re only one episode into The Mandalorian and it looks like it may have already contradicted a pretty major Star Wars Rebels plot point. Disney+ launched earlier this week and fans are still taking in what they saw in the first episode of the live-action Star Wars series. For the most part, fans seem to be pretty pumped on what Jon Favreau created and helped bring to life. As for that Star Wars Rebels plot point, it looks like The Mandalorian will never show the main character, played by Pedro Pascal, without his helmet....

As the first Hocus Pocus 2 teaser was released by Disney with a whole host of casting news, many fans who have been asking whether Doug Jones would be reprising his role as Billy Butcherson have discovered that the celebrated character actor will indeed be back for the sequel, and is joined by a number of new cast members including Ted Lasso and Game of Thrones star Hannah Waddingham. The teaser also confirmed that the sequel will arrive on Disney+ in time for Halloween 2022....

Before Dreamgirls, the highly anticipated motion picture from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, makes its nationwide debut, the film will roll out in a “road show” in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The three exclusive one-week engagements begin December 15. “Dreamgirls is a special film, the kind that comes around once in a generation,” said Jim Tharp, president of theatrical distribution for Paramount Pictures. “We wanted to bring it to audiences in a special way and we think this ‘road show’ does the film justice....

The Cannes Film Festival website has debuted a new poster and several images from Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive, which stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, Oscar Isaac, and Albert Brooks. Drive will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this month before opening wide September 16. New Regency has signed on Edward Zwick to direct In the Heart of the Sea, the fact-based tale of a Nantucket whaling ship the Essex, which was stalked and ultimately destroyed by a sperm whale in the South Pacific in 1820. According to Variety, stranded thousands of miles from home, the crew struggled to survive; they were lost at sea for 90 days. Eight were rescued. Zwick wrote the script with Bedford Falls partner Marshall Herskovitz....

In an interview with Interview Magazine, Emily Carey talked about her journey starring as Alicent Hightower during House of the Dragon’s first half. Before even landing on set, Carey and co-star Milly Alcock made plans to get to know each other. The reason for that was because it was a really scary and daunting experience coming onto a project like House of the Dragon and knowing no one. Alcock, who was cast first, wanted to know who Carey was as soon as the latter joined the show....

Fox has ordered series pickups with Zooey Deschanel-starring comedy The New Girl (formerly titled Chicks and Dicks), as well as dramas Alcatraz from J.J. Dwayne Johnson is in talks to star in the upcoming Paramount Pictures sequel G.I. Joe 2 as Roadblock. It is believed that Channing Tatum will also reprise his role of Duke from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Roadblock is a heavy machine gunner and cook, who is also a cousin of Heavy Duty, a character portrayed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The final season of Game of Thrones became infamous for many reasons, not least the moment a “Starbucks” cup appeared in one scene of the fourth episode of season 8.
