A Creed spinoff movie centered on the Rocky franchise’s Drago family is in the works at MGM. The studio is yet to announce the film, reportedly titled Drago, officially, but multiple news outlets have confirmed the scoop. Dolph Lundgren also hinted last year that MGM was interested in a Drago spinoff, but the idea seemed too farfetched at the time. First reported by The Wrap, Drago will be written by Robert Lawton and will feature Ivan Drago, the iconic villain of Rocky IV, and his son Viktor, who last appeared in 2018’s Creed 2....

While a niche channel like Shudder is always going to produce some hit and miss offerings, one series that has found the perfect home on the platform is Creepshow, the TV show based on the 1982 Stephen King and George A. Romero anthology movie of the same name. Having already produced three seasons, an Animated Special and a Holiday Special, fans of the glorious, practical effects-filled series will be happy to know that a fourth season is now on its way, per Deadline....

Larry David isn’t done yet. HBO has announced that Curb Your Enthusiasm, the acclaimed and long-running comedy series, is returning for season 11. The renewal comes after the show was revived in 2017, with the show originally going off the air following season 8 in 2011. But the positive reception to the last couple of seasons has prompted the Seinfeld creator and HBO to keep things going for at least one more season....

TNT has renewed the hit series Dallas for a second season. The Warner Horizon Television-produced drama, which ranks as basic cable’s #1 new series, is currently averaging 6.9 million viewers in its first season. TNT has ordered 15 episodes for its second season, which is slated to air in 2013.Currently airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), TNT’s Dallas marks the return to Southfork of J.R., Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing, who bring with them their arsenal of secrets, schemes and betrayals....

The Star Wars franchise’s much-awaited return to the big screen just took a major step forward. Damon Lindelof, the creator of shows like Lost, The Leftovers, and HBO’s Watchmen, is developing a new Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm. Academy Award and Emmy-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel, 3 Bahadur) will direct the film. As per Deadline, Lindelof is co-writing the currently untitled project, but it is unknown who his writing partner is....

Daredevil season 3 is just around the corner and critics have screened the first six episodes. So what’s the verdict? It looks like Netflix and Marvel have hit an absolute home run this time around and Matt Murdock’s return is a welcome one, with some calling this as the best season of any Marvel show on the streaming service to date. That’s high praise. Reading through the reviews that have come out so far, one is hard-pressed to find much in the way of negativity....

Netflix is going all out with their upcoming The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance series. Lena Headey, Benedict Wong, Awkwafina, Sigourney Weaver, Hannah John-Kamen, and Dave Goelz have all joined the cast of the absolutely massive prequel series to Jim Henson Company’s groundbreaking 1982 movie. In addition to the new castings, the streaming platform has also released a bunch of new images, which are sure to get fans hyped for the upcoming release date....

The Walt Disney Studios, in collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Hobbit), is launching a new production label called Disney Double Dare You, to create new animated films full of chills and thrills for audiences of all ages, it was announced today at the D23 Expo by Dick Cook, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. All films will be produced under the guidance of del Toro, who originated the concept and the design of DDY and who will also direct certain projects....

A new image from the next foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, finds Benedict Wong’s character, Wong, in big trouble. Shown in magical shackles and looking bloodied and beaten, this new image of Wong, who notably now holds the position of The Sorcerer Supreme, has been debuted by USA Today and offers just a glimpse of the life-and-death drama that will befall Doctor Strange and his pals....

Not one to take himself or his image too seriously, Command Performance is a tour de force that proves the legendary muscle man (who first made his appearance known in Rocky IV as Russian boxer Ivan Drago) still has what it takes to decimate a room full of heavily armed bad guys....

Legendary radio star and TV host Don Imus, the “shock jock” with a reputation for stirring up controversy, has passed away. Retiring just last year after a nearly-fifty year career, the Imus in the Morning host reportedly died Friday at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station, Texas, after being hospitalized on Christmas Eve. His family has since confirmed his death, though an exact cause of death hasn’t yet been revealed....

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that seven films remain in competition in the Makeup category for the 81st Academy Awards®. Snitch, a project which has been languishing in development for years, is getting new life as Dwayne Johnson enters talks to star in the prison drama. Ric Roman Waugh will direct and rewrite the original script by Justin Haythe. The story, which is based on a Frontline documentary, centers on a father who is shattered when his son is sentenced to 30 years in prison on drug charges. The father risks his life by going undercover to try and nail a drug kingpin in order to reduce his son’s sentence....

This fall, movie theater audiences nationwide will “phone home” once again as Steven Spielberg’s beloved film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial returns to the big screen in honor of its 30th Anniversary. “TCM Presents E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial 30th Anniversary Event” will take place Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. local time, with special matinee screenings in select theaters at 2:00 p.m. local time. Presented by NCM Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and Universal Pictures as part of the studio’s 100th Anniversary celebration, the event features the all-new, digitally remastered feature film, as well as a special taped introduction by TCM host Ben Mankiewicz, who will take audiences through the making of this modern classic....

Avatar: The Way of Water is dominating box offices, making $53 million on its U.S. opening day alone—but Edie Falco, who plays RDA Commander General Frances Ardmore in the sci-fi epic, says she thought the film had already premiered with far less success and little fanfare. Appearing on The View while promoting The Way of Water, Falco told host Whoopi Goldberg that she filmed her scenes for the Avatar sequel nearly four years ago....

Over the past week, there has been quite a bit of discussion about Shameless season 8, given that the actress had been holding out on returning because of a pay dispute. Back on November 12th, 2021, at their brand new event “Disney+ Day”, Disney announced X-Men ‘97, a new animated series that continues the adventures of the X-Men from the original 1992-1997 animated series. Bringing back the original team from the animated series, X-Men ‘97 will bring all-new X-Men stories to Disney+ for new and old fans alike. Premiering all the way back in 1992 on the Fox Kids Network, X-Men: The Animated Seriesran for five seasons, with 76 episodes, bringing Marvel’s flagship title to the small screen for a new audience....
