Fox has acquired the rights to We Bought a Zoo, a memoir by Benjamin Mee about how the author and his family used their life savings to buy a dilapidated zoo, and cared for 200 exotic animals facing destruction, in the English countryside. Julie Yorn will produce. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pickup marks the first project set up by Yorn and her unnamed company since the former Firm exec signed a first-look deal with the studio in January....
It’s time for movie musical chairs, everyone! According to Variety, only a day after Paramount did some reorganizing of their release schedule, Fox has done the same, sliding two of its movies into the empty slots left by Paramount. Meet Dave is moving from May 30th to July 11th, which was left open after Tropic Thunder moved to August 15. Marley and Me also moved from December 19 to Christmas Day, after Paramount announced its hotly-anticipated Star Trek would move from Christmas to a summer tentpole release on May 8, 2009....
The next Final Destination movie is back on track with its directors in place. THR reports that New Line’s Final Destination 6 has secured Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein to co-direct the feature film. The directing duo had previously worked on the 2018 movie Freaks, which garnered pretty strong reviews. Lipovsky’s other directing credits include Leprechaun: Origins and Dead Rising: Watchtower while Stein has directed episodes for the Disney XD series Mech-X4 and worked on Fraggle Rock with Lipovsky....

It didn’t take long for high school buddies Christopher McQuarrie and Bryan Singer to make an indelible stamp on the Hollywood scene. After their film debuts, with McQuarrie writing and Singer directing Public Access, their next collaboration really put them on the map, with the smash-hit (and one of my personal favorites of all-time) The Usual Suspects, which landed McQuarrie an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Reelz has announced that the new documentary Chyna: Wrestling with Demons is set for its TV premiere this weekend. The documentary will debut on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT). It will focus on the life of Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, both in and out of the ring, before her untimely death in 2016. Produced by AMS Pictures, the documentary will feature some of Chyna’s friends and colleagues sharing personal stories about the groundbreaking pro wrestling legend....
