Black Adam will most likely turn out to be a box-office low. New reports from The Hollywood Reporter indicate that an extended production budget for reshoots increased the film’s budget by over $250 million. However, now that the film’s box-office returns haven’t been according to expectations, the resultant losses would be higher, making Black Adam a theatrical flop. Black Adam was earlier reported to be made on a budget of $190M....

Scream staple Courteney Cox would love to return for more in the now-confirmed sequel, Scream 6. President Joe Biden will present the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to 17 people, including actor Denzel Washington. Biden’s honors list, which was first shared with Variety, includes those involved with Hollywood, sports, politics, the military, academia, civil rights, and social justice advocacy. Dermot Mulroney has signed on to direct a biopic based on Liberian soccer star-turned-politician George Weah. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film centers on Weah, the international soccer star who became a humanitarian and politician in his native country, eventually running for president. The producers spent the better part of a year courting Weah, whose full name is George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah, to hand over life rights....

Dimension Films has preemptively purchased Tough Love, a comedy pitch from writers Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson. Ice Cube is attached to star and Thomas Carter, who recently directed Coach Carter for Paramount Pictures, will direct. The story, inspired by the life of former New England Patriot Tebucky Jones (Ice Cube), centers around a tough as nails NFL player who realizes that his kids have become spoiled brats. In an effort to toughen them up, he forces them to spend their summer in the mean streets of Oakland where he grew up....

Sorry About the Demon is a horror comedy coming to Shudder later this month. It’ll be about a young man named Will (John Michael Simpson) who, following a breakup, moves into a new place and discovers that it’s full of “roommates.” The film was directed by Emily Hagins, who made her first feature at the age of 12 with Pathogen. While Daredevil and the other shows in what’s now being referred to as the Defenders Saga had spent many years streaming on Netflix where they first premiered, you’ll no longer find the streaming service’s name in the opening credits. Just recently, the shows all migrated over to Disney+ following the expiration of Netflix’s contract with Marvel. It only makes sense to have all of the Marvel content in the same place, though Disney has taken the extra step of erasing Netflix’s logo from the series....

Thus far, Disney’s movie downloading prospects look pretty good. In a story from Home Media Retailing, the studio reports that they sold 125,000 movie downloads within their first week of offering feature length content via iTunes. The new Hellraiser movie will soon be streaming on Hulu and it’s already getting some praise from Doug Bradley. Horror fans will know Bradley very well as the original Pinhead, first making his debut in Clive Barker’s original film from 1987. After reprising the role in a slew of sequels, Bradley has since departed the franchise with other actors taking on the role in subsequent films. Jamie Clayton plays a new incarnation of Pinhead in Hulu’s Hellraiser, and as the first female actor to take on the role, her version looks a bit different....

When Mad Men closed out Season 5 last month, we saw Elisabeth Moss’ Peggy moving out on her own, resigning from Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and joining another ad agency. The move left many fans wondering whether or not the Emmy-nominated actress will be leaving the show, since she doesn’t work for SCDP anymore. Series creator Matthew Weiner dispelled those rumors, confirming that Peggy will most certainly be back, in some capacity....

Many would say that the casting in The Power of the Dog is perfect, given that the film was widely acclaimed with all of its leads garnering Academy Award nominations for their work. Be that as it may, things could have been different if Elisabeth Moss had starred in the film as was the plan at one point before The Handmaid’s Tale star regrettably dropped out. Although his role in Ang Lee’s Hulk is one that many fans would prefer to forget, Eric Bana insists that there is no resentment between him and Ed Norton, who replaces him as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in The Incredible Hulk.
