Fangoria Magazine has announced that the newsstand edition of their upcoming January 2022 issue will feature The Black Phone, the upcoming horror flick from director Scott Derrickson (Sinister, Doctor Strange), on its cover. An adaptation of Joe Hill’s short story of the same name, with a screenplay penned by C. Robert Cargill (Sinister, Doctor Strange), The Black Phone transports audiences back to the 1970s, as a young boy (Mason Thames) kidnapped by a child killer (Ethan Hawke) must decipher the clues he receives from the killer’s previous victims via a series of calls from a mysterious phone on the wall where he’s being held captive....

USA Today has published the first photo from Fast Five, featuring Vin Diesel facing off with Dwayne Johnson. The fifth installment of the high-octane, high-testosterone series comes to theaters April 29th. In the film, Dwayne Johnson plays Hobbs, a cop on the trail of street racers Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and the familiar crew of the Furious franchise. “One of the things I’ve always loved about the franchise - the reason I think it’s been so successful over the years - is that they never stop trying to up the action,” Dwayne Johnson says....

If you click on ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com, the tarnished photo of Aaron Eckhart will slowly dissolve away to reveal the first glimpse of the film’s villain, The Joker, played by Heath Ledger. It’s been a long time since Heath was announced as the Joker at last year’s Comic Con. Now all you die hard Batman fans will finally get to see what the fuss was about....

After wrapping production on the fifth and final season of Fuller House, John Stamos took to Instagram to reflect on his time spent filming the Full House reboot series. In the post, Stamos writes a touching message about his experience revisiting Uncle Jesse and includes several behind-the-scenes photos with his Fuller House co-stars. In many of the photos, ousted cast member Lori Loughlin poses with the Stamos and her other co-stars from the series, recognizing the actress as a part of the team for her work on the show’s first four seasons....

Earlier this week, HBO Home Entertainment debuted Game of Thrones Season 6 on Blu-ray and DVD, which comes loaded with special features, including a number of deleted scenes. Some of these scenes have already surfaced online, and one in particular appears to fire a shot back at the show’s critics, who have lambasted it for its gratuitous violence, rape scenes and much more. This scene didn’t make the final cut while this season was airing on HBO, but at least we get to enjoy it now....

It has been fifty years since Peter Falk’s Columbo first appeared in his own TV series and uttered the words, “Just one more thing.” Murder By The Book was the first episode of the detective drama and premiered on 15th September, 1971 after the concept of the character was proven with two previous TV movies. That first episode was directed by none other than Steven Spielberg, and started in motion a series that would run for ten seasons and 69 episodes between 1971 and 1978, when it ran in rotation with the likes of McCloud and Quincy M....

Community creator Dan Harmon made his triumphant return to Comic-Con 2013 yesterday, hitting the stage wearing a full Iron Man costume, declaring himself a “multimillionaire playboy.” The creator, who rejoined the series he created after being fired last year, showed a “fan appreciation” clip ending with the show’s popular “six seasons and a movie” slogan, which is still the ongoing plan for the whole series. A video featuring Joel McHale was also shown, where he encouraged fans to use their power on social media to keep the show going....

Fresh off the critical and commercial success of his Biblical adventure Noah, director Darren Aronofsky has been set to executive produce and possibly direct a TV series adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s MaddAddam novel trilogy. The books Oryx and Crake (2003), Year Of The Flood (2009), and MaddAddam (2013) are set in a world where corporations have completely taken over and genetic modifications are constantly being made to living organisms. The story takes place in the mid-21st Century, both before and after a massive Waterless Flood wipes out almost all of humanity, leaving the few survivors struggling to stay alive, some of whom are innocent victims and some who are responsible for this catastrophe....

We are just a few months away from The Defenders arriving on Netflix. Even though the series is coming relatively soon, many elements of the show remain a complete mystery. Thanks to a newly released teaser video from Marvel, some of that mystery has been unraveled. We now know that Elektra will be coming back, as well as the Hand, who will presumably be one of the major threats to the heroes in the series....

Even with The Chronicles of Narnia and Brokeback Mountain cleaning up at the DVD stores, sales for DVDs as a whole continue to decline. According to Home Media Retailing, The Chronicles of Narnia sold 4 million units it’s first day on the shelves and Brokeback Mountain did very well with 1.4. However, “estimates for the first quarter indicate a 4.3% decline in consumer spending on video purchases, to $4.1 billion from $4....

The hit Showtime series Dexter has lined up another high-profile guest star for Season 6, with Mos Def signing on to appear in a multi-episode arc. The rapper/actor will portray an ex-con who says he has found religion, although he keeps finding himself in trouble with the law. Michael C. Hall’s title character will expose the truth about Mos Def’s character as the season progresses. It isn’t known how many episodes Mos Def will appear in....

David Yates talks about his time spent on the Harry Potter 5 set David Yates is the fourth director to tackle the HP series with his upcoming installment Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Studio executives liked his work so much, they have asked him to come back for part six, entitled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Heck, he might even come back for the final film in the franchise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows....

Dominic Cooper is playing James Bond creator Ian Fleming in an upcoming mini-series centering on his life and the inspiration behind this iconic character of both literature and cinema. The four-part biopic is tentatively titled Fleming and chronicles the writer’s younger years. The series will air on the British television station Sky Atlantic, but no U.S. airdate or network has been announced. Duncan Jones is directing another project titled Fleming, but there doesn’t seem to be a connection to this series as of yet....

Douglas Finberg is leaving Paramount Pictures to become VP of International Marketing at Marvel Studios. This is a natural move for Finberg, as The Hollywood Reporter points out, since Paramount was the distributor for Marvel’s Iron Man, and Marvel and Paramount have signed a five-picture deal giving Paramount domestic and international distribution rights. As VP of International Marketing, Finberg will be focused on Marvel’s upcoming slate of superhero films, including Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, The Avengers and, of course, Iron Man 2....

Joss Whedon’s acclaimed Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, will make its television debut on Tuesday, October 9 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on The CW. Created as a three-part online musical in 2008 by Joss Whedon (Marvel’s The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), the series stars Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) as Billy, A.K.A. Dr. Horrible, a budding super villain whose plans for world domination continually go awry....

In the tradition of great American crime dramas like Mean Streets and Goodfellas comes the new Australian film Animal Kingdom, opening on August 13th, which revolves around the Melbourne underworld. The film focuses on a Melbourne crime family who’s bonds are tested when their orphaned nephew (James Frecheville) comes to live with them and they begin to feel pressure from a police officer played by Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential). We recently had a chance to sit down with the film’s director David Michôd as well as some of his cast including Jacki Weaver, Sullivan Stapleton and newcomer James Frecheville to talk about the exciting new movie, its powerful subject matter and it’s American film influences....
