Futurama is officially getting a revival. Following Hulu’s announcement, fans started to prepare themselves for new episodes of the animated sitcom from Simpsons creator Matt Groening. After all, who doesn’t like to watch the adventures of cryogenically preserved humans interacting with robots and space creatures? The series first ran on Fox between March 1999 and August 2003 and was later picked up by Comedy Central from March 2008 to September 2013....

Get ready to return to the world of Westeros, as HBO has started filming their Game of Thrones Prequel series. Work began on this show long before the flagship series ended its run earlier this year. The premium cable network knew they wanted to keep this money train moving, but with creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wrapping up their story with season 8 on the main show, they had to turn elsewhere....

The Comic-Con Museum hopes to gather a mass of cosplayers and costume fans dressed as any of the Spider-Man from across the multiverse such as Peter Parker, Penny Parker, Miles Morales, Peter Porker, or Hobie Brown (and that list is only scratching the surface of the Spider-Verse)....

The small screen is now the place to be, with A-list actors attaching themselves to a variety of different projects over the last several years. Next up is Marvel Cinematic Universe alumni, and Captain America himself, Chris Evans who is starring in an adaptation of author William Landay’s crime drama novel Defending Jacob. The miniseries is set to be released by Apple TV+ and have now released the official trailer. Defending Jacob is described as a gripping, character-driven thriller based on William Landay’s 2012 novel of the same name which was published by Random House....

The director gathers his cast around for a good old fashion debate Last week, Denzel Washington brought a couple of cast members over to the Four Seasons to talk about his second directorial effort The Great Debaters. In the film, Washington stars as Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College, East Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school’s first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship....

We reported back in December that the new Jackass film will be shot in 3D and it seems this won’t be the same kind of 3D audiences have been enjoying with films like Avatar. Deadline New York is reporting that Jackass 3D will employ the 3D approach that breaks the plane of the screen and will appear to have objects coming out into the audience. Captain Jack Sparrow will join the audio-animatronics crew of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Both the Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will close the attraction in March to complete the updates in time for the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest on July 7. Rumor has it that the world premiere of the upcoming movie may be at Disneyland where the attraction would be re-opened at the premiere party....

Most of the focus on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been centered on two things; what role does Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch have to play in the movie, and what would cause the Multiverse of Madness in the first place. While the latter part of that seems to be getting answered before the movie arrives, through various hints in other Marvel properties and seemingly none as explicitly as in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, Wanda’s role is still pretty much a blank canvas, but not as blank as that of newcomer America Chavez, who is being played in the movie by Xochitl Gomez....

FOX and Donald Trump are developing Lady or a Tramp, a reality-competition series in which girls in love with the party life will be sent to a charm school where they will receive a stern course on debutante manners, according to Variety. Trump will executive produce the show and possibly come on air to evaluate contestants’ progress, insiders told the trade paper. If the show gets greenlit, it could be on the air as early as midseason....

The video game adaptation has been a tricky genre in the past few years. Doom marks the 20th video game adaptation to hit the silver screen, and only one of them so far, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, has surpassed the $100 million plateau at the box office. I’m not quite sure if Doom will be the second, but this flick will be the first to usher in a new generation of vidgame adaptations in the coming years, with many high-profile adaptations such as Spy Hunter, Halo and Hitman, among many others, to receive the cinematic treatment....

DreamWorks Studios has signed an overall producing deal with Nina Jacobson, it was announced by Stacey Snider, Co-Chairman and CEO of the Studio. It will give the studio a first look at her projects over a three-year term, effective at the beginning of 2007. “I have long admired Nina for her creativity and her well-deserved accomplishments,” said Production President Adam Goodman. “We’re thrilled to have her join our producing roster. We know she can deliver and we are here to support her in every way....

Empire Film Group, Inc. has acquired all North American distribution rights to the highly anticipated and controversial independent film, Hounddog starring Dakota Fanning, Robin Wright-Penn, Piper Laurie and David Morse. Empire has initiated a marketing campaign to release the film to more than 500 theaters on July 18, and anticipates box office revenues of more than $15 million. Dakota Fanning portrays a troubled, young girl living in the south in 1958 in ‘Hounddog,’ opening at theaters July 18, 2008 from Empire Film Group, Inc....
