Director Quentin Tarantino came down to San Diego Comic-Con today, for a Hall H presentation of his new Western Django Unchained, alongside cast members Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Don Johnson, Kerry Washington, and Walton Goggins. One of the more intriguing things revealed during the panel is that the filmmaker believes this may be a prequel to Shaft. Kerry Washington plays Brunhilde von Shaft, the wife of Jamie Foxx’s Django who he’s trying to rescue from the nefarious slave trader Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio)....

According to Variety, David Arquette will make his directorial debut with horror pic The Tripper for Coquette Prods., the shingle he runs with wife Courteney Cox. Arquette penned the screenplay with Joe Harris. Cox and Arquette will make cameo appearances in the horror ensembler, which will star Jamie King (Sin City), Thomas Jane, Jason Mewes (Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back), Lukas Haas, Paul Reubens and Balthazar Getty. The film, which is set to begin shooting this month in Santa Cruz, revolves around a group of friends who escape to a modern-day Woodstock concert for a weekend of debauchery, only to be stalked by a fanatical killer determined to finish what he started years earlier....

Director Denis Villeneuve recently offered an update on Dune: Part Two. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 sci-fi epic, Dune, will explore the second half of Frank Herbert’s eponymous novel and is expected to come out in October 2023. Denis Villeneuve has already promised a more fun and action-packed sequel, unlike the first one, which focused mainly on introducing the fascinating characters and the world of Dune to the audience....

BBC has released the first poster and a new clip for the highly-anticipated Doctor Who Christmas Special, which has been officially titled “Children in Need”. Before we get to the clip and poster, though, the network has added to the speculation that actress Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara Oswald, will be leaving the series in the near future. The official plot rundown for “Children in Need” reveals that the Doctor and Clara “face their last Christmas,” but it isn’t known yet if “Children in Need” will be her last episode, or if she is leaving at some point during the upcoming Season 9....

The first official trailer for Olivia Wilde’s next film, Don’t Worry Darling has dropped, and it promises a mind-bending, erotic thriller set in the ‘50s. Don’t Worry Darling stars Florence Pugh and Harry Styles as a couple living in an experimental utopian city, but not everything is as perfect as it appears. Christopher Nolan again proved why he is one of the greatest directors of our era with his release of Dunkirk on July 13, 2017. Nolan returned to his nonlinear roots with Dunkirk’s smooth yet complicated plot structure about one of the biggest military disasters of World War II. Once again, Emmy Rossum has given us the latest news about what’s happening on the set of Dragonball thanks to her MySpace page, this time telling us that filming has completed recently. Over the past week, The Boys stars Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, and others have posted to social media to announce the start of production on season 4. Eric Kripke, the showrunner and executive producer for the Prime Video series, is getting in on the fun, announcing the official title for the fourth season’s first episode. Kripke posted a photo via his Twitter of the script’s cover for episode 401, officially titled Department of Dirty Tricks....

Ethan Hawke and Myha’la Herrold have joined the cast of Leave the World Behind, an original Netflix thriller from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. The pair is the newest addition to the film’s star cast, which is headlined by Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali. Leave the World Behind is based on Rumaan Alam’s 2020 novel of the same name. As per Deadline, “Leave the World Behind is a story about two families, strangers to each other, who are forced together on a long weekend gone terribly wrong....

“I love a good psychological thriller,” Malin Akerman says, beaming through bright eyes and white smiles, though there haven’t been many psychological thrillers like The Aviary. The new (and first feature) film from writer/directors Chris Cullari and Jennifer Raite may be a great psychological thriller movie, but stands apart by taking the term ‘psychological’ quite literally. So literally, in fact, that the thrills exist solely as a byproduct of the characters’ states of mind, with the film actually beginning after the kinds of events most thrillers would spend their whole runtimes on....

Wes Anderson is a unique filmmaker. He’s someone who, when you see an image from one of his movies, you know instantly that it’s his. He makes movies that are visually stunning, but also have great emotional moments. Anderson’s care for color, composition, and camera movement, made moving to stop-motion animation a logical step in his evolution. The CW Network released an extended trailer for Legends of Tomorrow Season 2, debuting Thursday, October 13, which offers our first brief glimpse at the network’s highly-anticipated four-part crossover event. We learn in this trailer that the Legends are contacted in the Waverider by none other than Barry Allen in the year 2056, who apologizes for reaching out, stating he can’t “risk putting anymore lives in danger.” We then get to see Arrow, the present-day Flash, Supergirl and the Legends uniting on a rooftop....
