The 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards will air on Jan. 15 on the CW, with Chelsea Handler serving as host. The awards, which are known for being a reliable predictor of Academy Award nominations, will honor the cinematic and television achievements of the year. This year special presentations will be given by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kate Hudson. Pfeiffer will present Jeff Bridges with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Hudson will give her Glass Onion co-star, Janelle Monae, the SeeHer Award....

Darren Aronofsky is looking to bring Russell Crowe onto the arc for his biblical reboot of the classic, Noah. The original story follows Noah, as God sees the wickedness of man and is grieved by his creation, resolving to send a great flood to cleanse the Earth. However, he sees that Noah is a man “righteous in his generation,” and gives him detailed instructions on how to construct a seaworthy ark....

When the collectibles arm of DC Comics ceased operations last year it was questionable whether their planned output would ever see the light of day, but thanks to McFarlane Toys flying into action to agree to distribute the remaining inventory, which included DCeased versions of Superman, Supergirl, Harley Quinn and The Flash, these figures are now available for pre-order with shipping due in April 2022. These will be some of the very last figures that were in production at the time of DC Direct/DC Collectibles becoming defunct in 2020....

Under Wraps 2 is currently in production at Bridge Studios in Canada. Marvista Entertainment and Warner are the production teams behind the project. This spooky teenage-based comedy led to a sequel after having a successful run on Disney+ this past October. Under Wraps director Alex Zamm has signed back on and is confirmed to be directing this film as well. Actor Stephen Lang may have just confirmed development on Don’t Breathe 3. While discussing the character of Norman Nordstrom, aka The Blind Man, in the Don’t Breathe franchise with ComingSoon.net and what it is that draws him back to certain roles, Lang stated pretty matter-of-factly that he will “enjoy filming Don’t Breathe 3" — which certainly sounds like it’s already happening. Introduced back in 2016, the first Don’t Breathe follows three friends who break into a mysterious blind man’s home with the hopes of scoring easy money, only to wind up fighting for their lives when the man traps them inside and starts taking them out one by one....

The Lionsgate comic book adaptation Dredd has hit a serious snag, with director Pete Travis leaving the project in the middle of post-production. Screenwriter-producer Alex Garland is said to be taking over the project in the editing room, and may seek a director’s credit. Dredd wrapped principal photography earlier this year and it seems the producers and executives in charge of the production were not pleased with the footage Pete Travis was delivering....

Actor/Comedian Drew Carey has been named the new host of the multiple Emmy Award-winning The Price Is Right, joining the long-running game show when it returns this fall for its 36th season on the CBS Television Network. The show, which picked up its most recent Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show on June 14, is the longest-running game show in television history, having premiered on September 4, 1972. Previous host Bob Barker recently retired after 35 years on the series....

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Evangeline Lilly is back to slamming vaccine mandates on social media. In a video posted to Bridge City News earlier this week, the Quantumania star addressed the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, asking him to meet with groups protesting the vaccine mandates and pandemic restrictions around Canada. CBS Paramount Network Television and The CW announced that the popular primetime shows Everybody Hates Chris, and Girlfriends are immediately available for purchase and download on the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com). Additionally, episodes from the hit CW show America’s Next Top Model will be made available early March 2007. All the new CW offerings on iTunes are from the current 2006/2007 season, and new episodes will be available the day following the broadcast airing....
