Titanic is based on the real-life disastrous event of the sinking of the RMS Titanic ship in 1912. The ship was considered the largest ship afloat at the time and had about 2,240 passengers and crew onboard. However, due to the clashing with an iceberg, the ship found its end destination on the bottom of the ocean and over 1,500 people lost their lives....
The director reinvents James Bond for the 21st century Martin Campbell takes a second stab at directing a James Bond film with Casino Royale. He also made Pierce Brosnan’s Bond debut Goldeneye. There was a lot of pressure on Daniel Craig to succeed, but the director is the person most responsible for a film. It’s his vision from beginning to end and Martin Campbell did an amazing job here. He comments on coping with the critics and reinventing the most successful film franchise....
Not a lot is known about Defendor, an independent superhero film starring Woody Harrelson as an average-guy who thinks he has a secret identity, but that is changing as more and more of the film becomes known. Elias Koteas plays a detective gone bad in the film, and he spoke to SCI FI Wire about the film while promoting The Haunting in Connecticut. “He went in to infiltrate this group, this gang, and in the meantime the lines were fuzzy, so somehow he lost his family, he gets addicted to crack, and he becomes something like a part-time pimp for this organization,” Koteas said about his character....
Academy Award nominee Elisabeth Shue will join the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, as a series regular, on the CBS Television Network. Her character will be introduced in the episode scheduled to air on Feb. 15, 2012. Shue will play the newest CSI, fresh off an anger management course, amid rumors that D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) fired her when she worked for him in Seattle. “While it’s difficult to say goodbye to a beloved character like Catherine Willows, it’s exciting to start a journey with a new CSI, especially when that character is played by Elisabeth Shue,” said executive producer Carol Mendelsohn....
Helix Films, an independent production company, announced today that they have formed an exclusive partnership with Meccano Toy Company to develop an original 3D feature film based upon the iconic Erector Set brand of children’s construction toys. The deal represents the first time Meccano has licensed film rights to their toys. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Helix is currently developing an original script with an eye towards creating a film franchise based on the Erector brand that could also expand to other entertainment platforms including television and video games....
Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was a member of the rap group Marky Mark where he first gained fame as a teen pop idol before transitioning into a successful actor. Wahlberg’s first appearance in the film industry was in the comedy Renaissance Man (1994), but he got his first lead role in the movie Fear (1996). In the age of MCU movies and hush-hush TV secrets, it’s honestly surprising that Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould confirmed Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul’s return to the show’s final season. Paul is a busy man these days, caring for his beautiful four-week-old child while doing press for Westworld season four and the Riley Stearns film Dual, with Beulah Koale and Karen Gillan (playing two versions of herself). He didn’t expect to be doing press about Better Call Saul, though, so even he was pleasantly surprised that Gould let the cat out of the bag regarding his return....

A wonderful and subtle look at how culture informs personality and experience, the film follows a doctoral student at Columbia University who is enmeshed in a very different culture than her Ghanaian parents, immigrants who live in the Bronx. As she is planning a move to Ohio with her white boyfriend, a married professor, she receives the news that her mother has died, so she needs to head home to plan the matriarch’s funeral and handle her odd inheritance (a Christian bookstore named King of Glory)....
Courtney Cox was one of America’s Friends for 10 years, but that time has already come and gone, and you can surely tell with her new show Dirt. The F/X drama brings out a deliciously dark side of the actress that we rarely see (except for her semi-similar character in the Scream movie series). Dirt: The Complete First Season will be released on DVD on December 11, and I had a chance to chat with the actress about the show....

Variety reports that Fox has ordered two more seasons of 24, keeping the Emmy-winning drama on the network through the 2008-2009 TV season. Executive producers for 24 have already told several publications that they plan to make some changes on the show next season - but the twist will remain the same: Each episode covering one hour of real time as special agent Jack Bauer races against the clock to stop something bad from happening....

Frankie Muniz, who is perhaps most well-known for his roles in Malcolm in the Middle and Secret Agent: Cody Banks when he was a teenager, has since taken up stock car racing full-time. That doesn’t mean he won’t appear on screen, though. As per The Hollywood Reporter, it’s been announced that Muniz will star in a documentary series via NEO Studios. The docuseries, with the working title of Frankie in the Fastlane, will chronicle his career as a racecar driver, along with his family life as a father and husband....
The Frasier reboot series is officially a go at Paramount+. For years, Kelsey Grammer has been eager to revisit his iconic role as Dr. Frasier Crane with multiple attempts to reboot the series. He has finally been granted his wish as it’s just been confirmed that a series revival is now in the works for the new streaming service Paramount+ with Grammer back in the role. This update confirms recent rumors that a Frasier reboot was in consideration at Paramount+ with the streamer looking to compete with other streaming services....
Another week and another story of inappropriate conduct has broken in Hollywood. Following hot on the heels of recent stories involving TV and movie veterans Bill Murray and Frank Langella being investigated for misconduct on set, the latest celebrity to come under scrutiny is The Wonder Years director and executive producer Fred Savage. Following “multiple complaints” about Savage’s conduct while making the ABC comedy series, it seems that Disney have cut ties with the director and fired him from his role....
Actress and screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt does an admirably job in her directing debut, Friends with Kids. The film is somewhat shallow and unrealistic in its depiction of New York yuppies, but is crisply written and acted by a banner ensemble cast. What starts out as a biting comedy pivots into heavy drama with the kind of rich dialogue actors relish delivering. Westfeldt and Adam Scott star as best friends that decide to have a baby to skip all the romantic entanglements....
You can bring one of the summer’s biggest action films home in three separate editions on DVD and Blu-ray this November. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 3. HBO has submitted the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale script for an Emmy in the Outstanding Drama Writing category, which reveals that Tormund Giantsbane and Beric Dondarrion could still be alive and turn up in the highly anticipated Season 8. The two characters were once thought dead after the Wall was destroyed by the Night King and his undead dragon. Many fans believed that Tormund and Beric went down with the wall, but the script reveals how they may have gotten away....
