Peter Liguori, Chairman, Entertainment; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, today unveiled the Fox primetime schedule for the 2008-2009 television season speaking before the national advertising community at New York City Center. “Broadcast television needs a jolt. We feel it’s our responsibility, as the No. 1 network for the last four seasons, to provide that electricity,” said Liguori. “The goal of our business is entertaining viewers…they’re our lifeblood, and it’s incumbent upon us to make sure their first and favorite entertainment destination is Fox....

HBO announced today that it is bringing two of its most celebrated shows to Comic-Con, the long-running fantasy series Game of Thrones, which kicks off its seventh season Sunday, July 16 at 9 PM ET, and Westworld, which starts filming its second season soon. The Game of Thrones Season 7 panel will take place Friday, July 21 at 1:30 PM PT in Hall H, while the Westworld Season 2 panel will take place Saturday, July 22 at 4:15 PM....

Now comes word that the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale will be leaked early. It’s not supposed to air until Sunday, August 27. Cineworld, the U.K.-based parent company of Regal Cinemas, has revealed further details behind the decision to possibly file for bankruptcy. In a newly released statement, the debt-laden cinema chain has stated that they are considering bankruptcy as just one of several “strategic options to both obtain additional liquidity and potentially restructure its balance sheet.” As per a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Cineworld has released a statement assuring audiences that Cineworld and Regal theaters “are open for business as usual and continue to welcome guests and members....

Although Chevy Chase has garnered a reputation for being (allegedly) difficult to work with, the circumstances around his departure from NBC’s Community ahead of its fifth season were not well-known. Chase starred as the old, “politically incorrect” Pierce Hawthorne in the first three seasons of the comedy, which centered on a group of students who form a study group at the dysfunctional Greendale Community College. Only appearing sporadically in the show’s fourth season, Pierce was killed off during the final season to explain Chase’s absence....

The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that it has acquired from Icon Entertainment International (IEI) U.S. rights and Pan Asian pay TV rights to Coriolanus, the feature directorial debut of Academy Award nominated actor Ralph Fiennes. A contemporary staging of Shakespeare’s classic play about the titular Roman warrior, Coriolanus stars Fiennes, Gerard Butler, Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Cox, Jessica Chastain and James Nesbitt. Coriolanus will make its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival this Monday, February 14....

Writer-producer Dan Fogelman has landed a pilot order at Fox for a high-concept family comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The untitled single-camera project, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on a typical dysfunctional nuclear family that moves into a sought-after gated community only to discover that everybody who lives there is an alien. It was greenlighted off a pitch and put on the fast track for production by year’s end....

Netflix was quick to renew Daredevil for a third season following the tremendous success of the second season, which introduced Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, to the current Marvel TV universe. Daredevil season 3 hasn’t started filming yet, but Charlie Cox did say that production would be getting underway at some point this year. Now it looks like we have a start time, and Matt Murdock is going back to Hell’s Kitchen for Halloween this year....

Actor David Harbour has teased his plans for a Violent Night cinematic universe – and he knows exactly who he would add to the roster of holiday characters alongside his savage version of Santa Claus. Speaking with Digital Spy, Harbour called for The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal and Marvel actor Oscar Isaac to join him as the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, respectively. What Harbour has in mind sounds a lot like a live-action version of what DreamWorks Animation did with the likes of Santa and the Easter Bunny in 2012’s Rise of the Guardians, which essentially turns the beloved characters into an Avengers-esque team....

About his upcoming project Bousman said: “I’m working right now with Dimension and The Weinstein Company on a new project. Which… it’s another horror film but a much different type of horror film. I can’t go into a lot about it but I can say it’s probably the most disturbed I’ve ever been reading a script....

Actor-rapper RZA has joined the cast of Django Unchained for director Quentin Tarantino. Frozen River star Misty Upham has also signed on. RZA will portray Thaddeus, a violent slave toiling away at a Mississiippi plantation. Misty Upham will play Minnie, who owns a trading post/bar. This will be RZA’s first time acting for Quentin Tarantino, although they have worked together in the past. RZA composed the score for both Kill Bill Vol....
