The Walking Dead has already upped the proverbial ante in many ways during the first three episodes of Season 3. Not only does the volatile Rick (Andrew Lincoln) have to deal with those pesky walkers, but there is a new human contingency he will face in David Morrissey’s The Governor, and his survival colony dubbed Woodbury. The actor recently held a conference call, along with comic book creator and series executive producer Robert Kirkman to discuss the new season, which continues with “Killer Within” Sunday, November 4 at 9 PM ET on AMC....

Director David Slade, who we just reported last week is attached to direct 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil Reboot, wanted to give an update to clear up any rumors about the Daredevil Reboot, as well as Deadpool and The Wolverine, via his Twitter page. The Defenders is the next Marvel show that is going to make its way onto Netflix and is probably one of the most highly-anticipated shows to arrive this summer. With San Diego Comic-Con going on right now, Marvel and Netflix decided to release their best bit of promotional material hyping up the show yet. The newly released promo for The Defenders features some narration from none other than Marvel legend Stan Lee....

Following quickly on the news that Michael Jackson’s This Is It director and original Dirty Dancing choreographer Kenny Ortega is helming the Dirty Dancing remake, we’re now starting to hear trickles of who may be cast in the film. At the top of the list for Patrick Swayze’s Johnny Castle is Derek Hough, best known as one of the dancers on Dancing with the Stars. Hough is set to make his feature film acting debut with the upcoming Cobu 3D, which centers on two star-crossed dancers who find themselves at the center of a bitter rivalry between their brothers’ competing underground dance clubs....

What would happen if a super-villain were forced to raise three adorable little orphan girls? Well according to Universal’s funny new animated film, “Despicable Me,” the answer is simple, the same thing that happens to anyone who raises a child … they struggle! The result is a funny, entertaining and touching family film that features first-rate animation and also offers excellent 3D. The actors are all perfect in their roles including Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand and Miranda Cosgrove but especially the great Julie Andrews (“Marry Poppins”), who plays the mother of the evil genus....

The helmer talks about what it took to get the sequel made Ice Age: The Meltdown is a fantastic story with warm, funny characters. It is witty, wise and visually entrancing - in large part thanks to the talent of director Carlos Saldanha. At the helm of this sequel to the hit film Ice Age, he has created an entirely fresh film that is equally - if not more entertaining. The themes, concerning friendship, fear and family are strong and the action is fast paced....

More announcements came out of the TCA’s today: Billy Campbell, president of Discovery Networks U.S., said that Discovery Channel is planning to devote an entire evening to programming on “living with cancer.” The special night of programming, airing April 29, will feature a documentary followed by a live town-hall discussion involving Ted Koppel, cancer survivor Lance Armstrong and Leroy Sievers, former executive producer of ABC’s “Nightline,” who is battling cancer, Campbell said....

Walt Disney Animation Studios recently announced that it is teaming up with Lighthouse Immersive Studios, the producers of the blockbuster Immersive Van Gogh, to develop Disney Animation: Immersive Experience, which is set to receive its world premiere in Toronto, Canada, this December. Later in 2023, the experience will debut across the United States and other areas of the world. Walt Disney Animation Studios has been creating iconic animated stories since 1923....

Disney Interactive and YouTube are joining forces to bring family-friendly video entertainment to the web. The alliance will bring together the leading provider of family-friendly entertainment with the Internet’s most popular destination for video programming. Complementary online video destinations tailored to Disney audiences will be made available on both Disney.com and YouTube in early 2012, furthering Disney Interactive’s strategy to deliver the most relevant and immersive online experiences to its guests wherever they are....

Talk of the long, long-awaited sequel to District 9, District 10, has ramped up over the last few months, with star Sharlto Copley and director Neill Blomkamp more eager than ever to see the project finally come to fruition. Speaking to Comicbook.com, Copley has again asserted his desire to see District 10 made real, revealing that he and Blomkamp often discuss the movie. It certainly sounds like District 10 is never far from the minds of both Copley and Blomkamp....

After 2005, with DVD sales down, the end of the format was predicted. Downloading was all the rage and it was believed we might be seeing the end of packaged media. According to The Hollywood Reporter, even with the proliferation of digital offerings, the rollout of HD-DVD and Blu-ray DVDs, nothing really changed that drastically. The biggest change seemed to be in the amount of offerings (ie. mobil content and the ability to have what you want whenever you want it)....

Over the years, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been at the front of various different big movie hits. The Rock makes us laugh and is full of energy and adventure, rarely failing to bring a story to life and create a fun atmosphere. Given his string of successful blockbusters, we sometimes forget that not all the projects he was a part of have made it to the big screen; despite them seeming like brilliantly captivating movies, for various reasons, they didn’t go ahead....

Welcome Elijah Wood as the newest cast member of Yellowjackets. Per Variety, the Lord of the Rings star has just been tapped for a season-long guest starring role as a dedicated Citizen Detective named Walter who will “challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she won’t see coming.” Now exactly Walter does that remains to be seen but is sounds like Wood and Ricci will be sharing a lot of screen time in the new season....

Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar’s next project will be the short film Strange Way of Life, and it’s a movie he says could be his “answer to Brokeback Mountain.” At one point, Almodovar could have pursued directing Brokeback Mountain, but prefers not to work within the “limitations” that come with directing Hollywood films. But his new short has a similar premise to Brokeback Mountain, the Ang Lee-directed romantic drama about two cowboys who fall in love, and Almodovar’s film similarly has two major stars in its lead roles....

Walt Disney Pictures first began testing the waters with the idea of adapting its beloved animated features into live-action remakes in the 1990s. Its first outing was the critically lauded but commercially disappointing live-action Jungle Book, based on the studio’s 1967 animated classic of the same name, itself based on Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book novel. This was followed by the vastly more successful 101 Dalmatians (1996) and 102 Dalmatians (2002) starring Glenn Close in a terrifying portrayal of Cruella De Vil that has most certainly been permanently etched into the minds of many of those who grew up in the 90s....

When fans saw Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock for the first time in years as Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home, they finally received hope that their favorite blind crime fighter would officially enter the MCU fold. These hopes only elevated when Vincent D’Onofrio returned as Kingpin in Hawkeye. Kevin Feige himself recognized Charlie Cox as his choice for Daredevil even before he returned as the character. With the rights of the Netflix characters and their respective series now back in Disney’s hands, and with Netflix’s Marvel series leaving the platform in March 2022, the belief that they could all be mixing it up with the big screen heroes soon is gaining a lot of buzz....

The romantic comedy is a sure thing on Valentine’s Day Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore will overcome you with sweetness in Music and Lyrics. The film comes out on Valentines Day for a reason. It’s a love-fest with enough syrupy goodness to keep you on a sugar high for a month. I almost went for an insulin shot afterwards. The pair were very nice in the interviews, as always, but Hugh Grant especially was on the charm offensive....

Tron Uprising is set to debut on Disney XD starting June 7th, and will bridge the gap between 1982’s Tron and 2010’s Tron: Legacy. We have the fourth trailer for this exciting new animated series, which follows young mechanic Beck (Elijah Wood) as he leads a rebellion against the The Grid with the help of Tron (Bruce Boxleitner). Beck (Elijah Wood) is a young mechanic living in Argon City, a growing metropolis in a far off corner of the grid that has just been occupied by General Tesler, a henchman of the notorious Clu....

You can bring director Steven Soderbergh’s two-part epic biopic home in one new DVD and BD edition next year. Che will be released on DVD and Blu-ray from the Criterion Collection on January 19, 2010. The film, which was released in two separate parts (Che (Part 1) and Che (Part 2)) in theaters will be released as one single film here, with both the DVD and BD editions priced at $49....

When Iron Man hits DVD shelves Tuesday, September 30, fans are going to get access to a ton of great extras, but right now you can get a sneak peek at some of them. A ton of cool new concept art has been posted over to Yahoo! Movies to whet fans’ appetites for the film. The concept art includes painted designs from comic artist Adi Granov for some alternate armor, early sketches of the V1 armor, maquettes and breakdowns showing how the armor seals itself once Tony Stark puts it on....
