Principal photography has begun on the action-thriller Hellboy 2: The Golden Army from writer/director Guillermo del Toro and film producers Lawrence Gordon (Hellboy, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Die Hard), Lloyd Levin (Hellboy, United 93) and Mike Richardson (Hellboy, Gone). The film will be released on August 1, 2008. Del Toro, who most recently brought the Oscar-winning elaborate fantasy “Pan’s Labyrinth” to the screen returns to helm the second installment, starring Hellboy alums Ron Perlman (Outlander, The Mutant Chronicles), Selma Blair (The Fog, In Good Company), and Doug Jones (Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer, Pan’s Labyrinth)....

Ever since Marvel Studios brought the Defenders Saga under their banner, many of the stars of the former Netflix shows have expressed their desire to continue their roles in the MCU. While we have already seen the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Finn Jones, who played Danny Rand in Iron Fist, has said he would love to be part of the ongoing Marvel saga, and would take part in a Heroes for Hire show on Disney+....

AMC has revealed the first look it’s upcoming sci-fi drama series, Humans. The picture features actress Gemma Chan, who plays ‘Synth’ Anita, an extremely lifelike android sent to help out a family in a present not unlike our own. Is she real or a robot? AMC and Kudos’ ambitious new series, Humans, is set in a parallel present, where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’, a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart....

Apple used part of its Worldwide Developers Conference, which took place today, to unveil Foundation. The upcoming Apple TV+ show is based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov and it looks massive in scope. Apple’s streaming platform isn’t even a year old and they are still looking for their big hit. While just looking at the trailer, it seems they could very well have their own Game of Thrones under their belts if everything goes according to plan....

Hulu is teaming up with The Mindy Project star/creator Mindy Kaling for a new anthology series based on the hit 1994 romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral. Mindy Kaling, who’s hit series The Mindy Project is currently airing its final season on Hulu, will write and executive produce. This movie ironically comes a few months after Hulu landed streaming rights to all of ABC’s TGIF lineup from the 1990s, although it seems unlikely that this Four Weddings and a Funeral will be set in the 1990s like the original movie....

This coming June will be the 30th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s classic dinosaur thriller, Jurassic Park. Since its opening in 1993, the film has spawned five successful sequels, the most recent of which, Jurassic World: Dominion, was released just this year. It will most likely be the last installment for a while. Dinosaurs had appeared in movies long before Jurassic Park. From the still-impressive stop-motion T. rex battle of 1933’s King Kong, to the slow-motion gallops of prosthetically-enhanced iguanas in 1959’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, there have been many attempts to bring these ancient creatures to life on the screen....

Game of Thrones co-creator D.B. Weiss revealed in a new interview with Vanity Fair that they plan on ending the popular HBO series after seven or eight seasons. That’s just one tidbit of new information in the interview, which also includes quotes from author George R.R. Martin, the other co-creator David Benioff and series star Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister). The actor is also featured on the magazine’s new cover, alongside Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister)....

Westeros is ready to throw its vast population into the chaos of Winter, and with that comes a delayed Game of Thrones Season 7. Shooting is starting later than normal, with a summer 2017 premiere date planned for new episodes. This is to take advantage of the colder winter months during production. This next year will also see a much shorter season for the hugely popular HBO fantasy series. But star Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, thinks all of this is for the best....

Director Chris Fisher talks about Street Kings 2: Motor City, working in Detroit, his new projects and much more Director Chris Fisher is one of those directors that has found a niche directing in both film and television. He has directed features such as Dirty and S. Darko along with TV episodes for such programs as Warehouse 13, Eureka, and Hawaii Five-0. He directed all those episodes between 2009’s S. Darko and his latest movie, Street Kings 2: Motor City, which hits the shelves on Blu-ray and DVD on April 19....

The two-part documentary Hope in Motion is finally coming to DVD November 6th. According to Variety, the film chronicles Christopher Reeve’s struggle to walk again. Directed by Reeve’s son Matthew, the film was originally set to be shot in three segments, but Christopher died before the rest of the film could be completed. The first segment of the documentary has already aired on ABC in 2002, and earned an Emmy nomination....

Studios are not slowing down on their want and need to make live action adaptations of every fairytale character known to man. Walt Disney Pictures is embarking on a 3D live action adaptation of Cinderella, and they are trying to nail down Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo; Bee Season) to direct. This version of Cinderella will look an awful lot like 2010’s 3D Alice in Wonderland, complete with an all-star cast (though no casting announcements have been made as of yet)....

Last year’s blockbuster success of The Batman ignited a new era for the DC franchise. The Penguin, a spinoff series featuring Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, is now set to arrive on HBO Max. So far, the cast and crew have been diligently putting together all the pieces needed to make this project come alive. Colin Farrell has expressed his excitement for being part of it and hopes the show will continue to build on The Batman’s successful grounded take on superheroes....

The new and improved horror icon Jason, and those who brought him to the screen have invaded San Diego today. The cast and filmmakers of Friday the 13th came to Comic-Con for a panel and they had plenty in store for us. They even had a little contest before the panel started where you could win an acutal prop machete used by the new Jason, Derek Mears, in the new film....

Earlier today, AMC debuted the first footage from The Walking Dead Season 3 at their San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H. Now we have the full video that was show, plus the official announcement that Season 3 is debuting Sunday, October 14 at 9 PM ET. The season premieres of The Walking Dead, Talking Dead, and Comic Book Men will coincide with the network’s annual blockbuster marathon of thriller and horror films, AMC Fearfest....

With production on Supernatural Season 9 just beginning and an appearance at 2013 Comic-Con International: San Diego this Sunday, series stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles took a moment to show off the Supernatural bag and more importantly, to road-test its fashion cape accessory!...

Later this year, horror streaming service Shudder will unleash their new series based on Stephen King and George A. Romero’s classic horror anthology movie Creepshow. This new version is coming our way from The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero, and today we have your first look at Battlestar Galactica actress Tricia Helfer in the upcoming horror anthology series. Greg Nicotero says this about working with Tricia Helfer. Nicotero then goes on to speak a bit about how he was able to gather up the behind the scenes talent for the first season, which includes Adrienne Barbeau, John Harrison, Joe Hill, and Tom Savini....

It was one of the most anticipated projects for this pilot season, but earlier this year, the Babylon 5 reboot was pushed to the 2022-2023 pilot season. And then nothing more was heard about it. Now, a report from Deadline quotes CW CEO and Chairman Mark Pedowitz who confirms that the reboot is still in active development. Pedowitz explained during the network’s pre-upfront press call, “It is very much in active development, I personally spoke with Straczynski back when we picked up the pilot....

Its long been known that The Dark Knight Rises will be Christopher Nolan’s last film in the Batman franchise, thus making his take on the material a trilogy. Though, with this upcoming installment set to break box office records and possibly become the highest grossing film of all time, its likely that we’ll be seeing Bruce Wayne return to the big screen sooner than later. Darren Aronofsky has recently opened himself up as a possible candidate to direct the next Batman movie after The Dark Knight Rises has its run....

Earlier this morning, I had the chance to sit with about a billion other West Coast Journalists and listen to Director David Yates talk up his latest creation, the fifth installment in J.K. Rowling’s young adult series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Yates not only directed this fifth picture, he is also scheduled to come back for part six, entitled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. One of the many reporters that were on hand asked if he could talk about his plans in regards to next year’s Harry Potter film....

Deception and desire are the order of the day in the newly released trailer for the romantic mystery Decision to Leave. Released courtesy of MUBI, Decision to Leave is the latest effort from the renowned director behind Oldboy, filmmaker Park Chan-wook. The footage teases a quietly sinister story of a twisted romance that begins when a man falls to his death under curious circumstances. The detective put on the case soon finds himself falling for the man’s widow....
