The DC Extended Universe has been notorious for its struggles in creating a proper interconnected universe. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon include six Avengers films, DC has not been able to produce a single Justice League sequel. Many other DC films, including those based on Plastic Man, Lobo, and Nightwing, have entered development. However, due to the poor track record of the DCEU, only time will tell whether those actually get made....

There is a scene in Larry Clark’s 1995 film Kids where the two main characters, Telly (Leo Fitzpatrick) and Casper (Justin Pierce), ride in a rattling New York City subway car. Soon a homeless amputee navigates his way from the next car into theirs on a makeshift dolly, singing gleefully while shaking his cup at the many straphangers. As he approaches Telly and Casper, we expect the worst, given what we’ve already seen from these two characters....

The X-Men have officially invaded the world of live-action TV with The Gifted. Fox’s highly-anticipated TV series based on the famous Marvel mutants has finally debuted and, so far, people seem to be enjoying it. That is fairly impressive, considering that the most recognizable mutant in the bunch is Blink, and she isn’t exactly an A-lister, even if she is a fan-favorite. Now for the big question; does The Gifted exist in the same universe as the X-Men movies?...

Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson has big plans for Black Adam, calling his imminent DC debut Phase 1 of the DC Cinematic Universe. Responding to a review of Black Adam on social media, Johnson teased his intentions for the antihero, calling the long-awaited arrival of Black Adam “Exciting times for the brand to build up and build out.” Black Adam will finally introduce audiences to the titular antihero. After nearly five thousand years of imprisonment, Black Adam, an antihero from the ancient city of Kahndaq, is unleashed into modern times....

If there is one thing that Dwayne Johnson loves right now, it is talking about his upcoming movie Black Adam. He recently spoke to Men’s Journal about stepping up to the DC plate with the super-charged superhero’s DCEU debut. Johnson has professed at every given opportunity that the film will “disrupt the hierarchy” of the DC universe as it is currently known. The anti-hero, who is usually depicted in the comic books of DC as the adversary of Shazam, but just as Black Adam didn’t appear in the Zachary Levi movie, Levi’s character is not expected to make an appearance in Black Adam’s debut....

Although DC League of Super-Pets appears to be a child-friendly throwaway entry in Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC franchise, its post-credits scene does a pretty decent job in adding a small tie to the things going on in the live-action DCEU right now and Dwayne Johnson just couldn’t help but share it. While Johnson voices Krypto in the new animated movie, he will also be appearing in Black Adam in October, but fans haven’t had to wait until then to see Johnson in the role of the anti-hero, thanks to his post-credit appearance in DC League of Super-Pets....

Elizabeth Banks is frustrated with how her Charlie’s Angels adaptation was received. Speaking with The New York Times in an interview published online Tuesday, Banks—who wrote, directed, and starred in the 2019 reboot of the 1970s show—said that while making the film was “an incredible experience” that she’s proud of, she feels that her vision was misrepresented in both its marketing and criticisms. “Let me say I’m proud of the movie....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is about the Master of the Mystic Arts tapping into the multiverse and facing the consequences of altering events in the sacred timeline. The film is to continue his story from Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he once again makes a wrong decision at the behest of a teenager. But, the film is not just about him. The film also follows Wanda Maximoff’s journey from where she left it in WandaVision....

A biopic about Elton John’s life is in the works and the British singer recently revealed who tops his wish list of actors to play himself: Elton John added that the film will feature songs from his career and possibly a few new ones. Written by Billy Elliot scribe, Lee Hall, the singer describes the film as a “surreal” look at his life rather than a strictly factual account, much in the vein of Moulin Rouge....

Writer-director Mike Judge put out a little film in 1999 that studios had little to no confidence in. With just a limited release rollout, the film bombed theatrically but, much to everyone’s surprise, once Office Space hit the shelves on DVD and also on cable, it became perhaps one of the biggest cult classic films of all time. Judge is once again mining the hilarity of the workplace with his new film Extract, which hits theaters on September 4 and could easily be described as Office Space for blue-collar America....

This time out, Frank Martin has been pressured into transporting Valentina, the kidnapped daughter of Leonid Vasilev, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency for the Ukraine, from Marseilles through Stuttgart and Budapest until he ends up in Odessa on the Black Sea. Along the way, with the help of Inspector Tarconi, Frank has to contend with the people who strong-armed him to take the job, agents sent by Vasilev to intercept him, and the general non-cooperation of his passenger....
