Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is following the lead set by Fox Home Entertainment two months ago. According to After Dawn, Disney will no longer offer special features on its rental DVD’s, creating two separate DVD classes with a “premium” retail version with special features, and a bare-bones rental version with no extras. Fox announced in early March that it was creating two classes of DVD’s for sales and rental, and Disney is now the first studio to create a similar program....

Universal Pictures is teaming up with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company for a new disaster movie entitled Earthquake. Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk) has been hired to write the screenplay. No specific story details were given, although this is not a remake of Universal’s 1974 movie Earthquake, that starred Charlton Heston and Ava Gardner. J.J. Abrams will produce alongside his Bad Robot partner Bryan Burk. The project was first set up at the studio back in 2008, with The Omen writer David Seltzer penning the script....

David Holden (James Maslow) discovers a potentially devastating war plot after his B-17 bomber is shot down while on a mission over France in Wolf Hound. Along with Maslow in the cast are Trevor Donovan (90210) and John Turk (Transformers: Dark of the Moon). The action movie is directed by Michael B. Chait, who co-wrote with Timothy Ritchey. The official synopsis reads: “Featuring action sequences using vintage aircraft, this thriller WWII epic shows how one man’s courage can change the world....

The Sound of Violet is hitting United States theaters this weekend, and ahead of the premiere, we have an exclusive clip from the film to debut. Vanished: It wants to be an intricate mystery like Prison Break, but it just doesn’t have the same appeal.
