The CW has handed out early renewals to ten shows heading into the 2019/2020 season. Over the past handful of years, the network has really stepped it up in the original programming department and has strung together a series of hits that have managed to find a captive audience. Fox Entertainment has announced that they will pick up two pilots from the U.K. titled Outnumbered and Spaced. According to Variety, Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly found success at NBC adapting the British sitcom The Office and is looking to do the same at his new network. Outnumbered is from MRC in association with Hat Trick and centers around a family that struggles to raise three kids, who happen to be overly intelligent and rambunctious....

Giving the Japanese animation industry a run for its money, China has recently become one of the most popular producers of animation, known specifically as donghua. Donghua are a bit different from Japanese anime. They run at an average of 10-15 minutes per episode. The voices and accents are also distinct, with words sounding like tongue twisters....

Comedian Aries Spears is finally speaking up about the ongoing legal battle he’s facing alongside actress Tiffany Haddish on charges of child abuse. The lawsuit was filed by two siblings, identified only as Jane and John Doe, alleging that Spears and Haddish coerced them to take part in sexually explicit skits several years ago. Spears, 47, took to his Spears & Steinberg podcast to break his silence. “Listen, obviously for legal reasons, I really can’t talk about anything at this time,” he told co-host Andy Steinberg....
Conan O’Brien, the dominant late-night host at 12:35 a.m. (ET) for the past 14 seasons, will succeed Jay Leno as host of the preeminent series on late-night television, NBC’s The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien in June of 2009. Beginning in Spring 2009, Jimmy Fallon will step in as the Late Night host. It has now been confirmed that Charlie Cox will return in Daredevil: Born Again, with both the actor and character all set to fully join the MCU. The news has left some fans concerned over how the character will be portrayed, with many worried that The Man Without Fear could become far too comical. Netflix kicked off its first night of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival, a celebration featuring comedy and music at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Controversial comedian Dave Chappelle was present where he performed to the sold out crowd in attendance, serving as the night’s headliner following several successful Netflix specials. Will Smith is now the top contender to star in Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Django Unchained. The story centers on a slave in the Old West who teams up with a German bounty hunter to help track down his missing wife. Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz are also said to be circling major parts in this Western. Will Smith will play the slave named Django, if he signs on, and it is said that Quentin Tarantino wrote the bounty hunter role with Christoph Waltz in mind....
