Revisiting the 80s for more creative inspiration, the creators of Cobra Kai are actively developing a spinoff of the classic comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. As previously reported, the project is in the works at Paramount Pictures with Bill Posley (Welcome to Flatch) on board to write the script. Called Sam and Victor’s Day Off, the film will focus on the parking attendants who take out the Ferrari from the first film for a drive around town, revealing how exactly they racked up the miles on the odometer....

Phil Knight’s Portland, Ore., animation studio Laika is wrapping production on its first feature, the stop-motion Coraline, directed by Laika supervising director Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas), according to Variety. Now, Laika is taking out three pitches, any one of which could be its next project. Ultimately, it may produce all three: Here Be Monsters! from the books by Alan Snow, is a steampunk-flavored story set in a fantasy version of 1850s London....

Jim Sheridan’s Dream House was set to open on February 18th of 2011, but the Universal thriller is requiring full-cast reshoots, and actor Daniel Craig is unavailable until December. Craig is currently shooting the first installment of David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and he doesn’t get a break until near the end of the year. This has sent Morgan Creek Productions, home to Dream House, in search of a new release date for their murder mystery....

Marvel Studios has released official stills from a crucial sequence from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel took to Instagram and Twitter, releasing the images of “members of the Illuminati.” The team featured in the film as the organization responsible for the safety of Earth-838. The sequence featuring the Illuminati was an important one and also the one which gained the most screams in the theaters. The scene introduced several alternate versions of Marvel characters and even two surprising cameos....

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves promises to bring all the joy of the game to life. From the trailer, which was released yesterday and can be viewed below, fans can easily expect a ton of fun on top of plenty of larger-than-life action. But another fun detail was released from the Paramount Pictures panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where they showed a clip from the movie involving Chris Pine’s party facing off against a rival group of adventurers in a maze-like arena… and the rival group is none other than the gang from the 1980’s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon!...

Netflix has revealed that the 10-episode Season 2 of Hemlock Grove will debut in its entirety Friday, July 11th. Legendary daredevil Evel Knievel will have his story told in the upcoming limited series Evel for USA Network, and This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia has been cast in the lead role. From Universal Content Productions, Etan Frankel (Shameless) is writing the script in addition to executive producing with Ventimiglia. Also exec producing are McG, Mary Viola, and Steven Bello of Wonderland Sound and Vision, Alex Gartner, Charles Roven, and Topher Rhys-Lawrence of Atlas Entertainment, and Ventimiglia’s DiVide Pictures partner Russ Cundiff....

Actress, game show host, author, and neuroscientist are just a few of the many hats Mayim Bialik has put on to great success, and the “powerhouse” is at it again with her new movie As They Made Us. This time, Bialik makes her directorial debut with a screenplay she had also written. The film had its official release in theaters, on digital, and On Demand earlier this month.
