Nineteen months after Paramount announced the early development of a Frasier revival, the studio has officially given a series order. David Stapf, President of CBS Studios, raved about the revival prospects to Deadline, saying: The television sitcom hit Frasier was created as a spin-off from the 1980s hit Cheers. Frasier had a two-hundred sixty-three episode run from 1993-2004, earning thirty-seven Emmys during its run – five of those best comedy series awards....

The Game of Thrones universe on HBO continues to expand. Several spin-offs based on George R.R. Martin’s beloved fantasy novels are currently in development at the network and one of those projects has just locked in a writer. 10,000 Ships, which will center on Princess Nymeria, will be written by Amanda Segel (Helstrom, Person of Interest). While the show has yet to be handed a series order, this is an important step in the right direction....

Netflix has released the final trailer for the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 4. The witches are waging war in the latest look at the final season of the hit show. Season 3 began with Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) heading to Hell with her friends in order to get back Sabrina’s warlock boyfriend, Nick Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood), who was sent there after the soul of Lucifer Morningstar (Luke Cook) merged with his at the conclusion of season 2....

Chris Weitz and his brother Paul are best known for making such comedies as American Pie and About a Boy. According to Empire Online, the brothers are going a different route with their next collaboration. Together, they will make the fantasy epic Elric. Elric is based on a series of books by Michael Moorcock. The character of Elric of Melnibone, aka The White Wolf, first appeared in 1961. He was the subject of more than a dozen books, but this will be the first time that the character has been brought to the big screen....

Disney/Pixar have created a “Special Cliffhanger Edition” of Toy Story 3 for college students! They are inviting students to visit their Facebook page and then click “I’m In!” for the chance to see the first 65 minutes of the gang’s newest adventure. Comic-Con International unveiled the full Friday schedule today, and just like we did for the Preview Night and Thursday schedule, we’re breaking down all of the TV-related panels. As it turns out, that’s almost the entire schedule, with the small screen dominating the Con on Friday, July 21, with The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory and many more all taking to the Hall H stage, on a day where there are no movies in Hall H whatsoever....

Perfect Dark is a video game released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64. It’s funny how horror directors seem to be the only kind of auteur who doesn’t age well. Many of the great filmmakers age into a deeper brilliance (Terrence Malick, Luis Bunuel, Ingmar Bergman, the ingenious Jean-Luc Godard, the list is endless), like the proverbial ‘fine wine,’ but horror directors are more like bread — the octogenarians are mostly moldy. Legendary icons of the genre, from Wes Craven and Tobe Hooper to the practically disappeared John Carpenter, have only worsened in age with sparse exceptions....

Some critics are saying The Whale could be the movie that will earn Brendan Fraser an Academy Award nomination, but while there has been immense support for the actor from colleagues and fans alike, not everyone is overly thrilled about his casting in the film. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, The Whale is written by Samuel D. Hunter, who previously developed the story as a play in 2012. The film follows Fraser as a 600-pound recluse hoping to reconnect with his daughter (Sadie Sink) after abandoning his family years prior to pursue a new life with his gay lover....

After the Doctor Who Season 8 finale aired last weekend, BBC debuted a brief mid-credits stinger showing Santa Claus, played by Nick Frost, proclaiming that the Time Lord (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) are “not all right,” in a tease of the upcoming 2014 Christmas Special. The first trailer for Doctor Who’s annual Christmas Special has now arrived, giving us another brief look at Kris Kringle. Unlike Christmas Specials from prior seasons, which have typically been stand-alone adventures, the stinger and this trailer reveal that the special may be connected to the Season 8 story, which could answer the lingering rumors that Jenna Coleman will be leaving Doctor Who after this season....

Once filmmaker John Carney has signed on to direct Dogs of Babel for Mandate Pictures. We first reported on this project back in February, when Steve Carell came aboard to produce and star in the drama. Jamie Linden wrote the screenplay, which is adapted from Carolyn Parkhurst’s novel of the same name. The story centers on Paul Iverson (Steve Carell), a linguistics professor who comes home one day to find his wife dead in their back yard....

Esai Morales, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, and Anson Mount have been hired to co-star in Fox’s drama pilot, The Cure from Warner Bros. TV. The show revolves around a group that cuts through the red tape of medical bureaucracy to get care to those who need it most; Morales, Beauvais-Nilon and Mount will play members of the group, says The Hollywood Reporter. Also, Melinda Clarke is set to do CBS’ drama pilot, The Man; it centers on an undercover cop (LL Cool J) who juggles his job and taking care of a boy orphaned after one of his drug busts....

Playing real-life serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer was not easy for Evan Peters, but critics and viewers say the actor pulled it off incredibly well. While the series, dubbed Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, has not been without controversy, it has seemed that everyone agrees that Peters did phenomenal with the role. But getting there was something Peters previously described as scary, and now, the actor has opened up much more on all of the efforts he’d put in to transform himself into Dahmer....
