It is hard to imagine an Evil Dead movie without plenty of blood, gore and flying body parts, and a new behind-the-scenes look at Evil Dead Rise certainly promises plenty of that. Director Lee Cronin shared a new image from the movie as he celebrated the anniversary of the film shoot. Although the movie has been delayed to April 2023 to receive a theatrical release instead of going straight to streaming on HBO Max, fans have been encouraged by what has been revealed so far, and this latest image will add to the expectations of the latest Evil Dead offering....

Bruce Campbell will forever be the champion of The Evil Dead, whether in his role as Ash Williams or ensuring the franchise continues to live on as a producer and contributor to the franchise. This fall, Evil Dead Rise will take the horror series to new heights, literally, as it changes the location of the Deadite terror from a cabin in the woods to a high-rise apartment block in suburbia. While Campbell will not be appearing on-screen in his role as Ash, he has been working behind the scenes on the movie, and recently he has revealed that test screenings have gone so well that the movie may not end up streaming straight to HBO Max as planned....

Alison Pill is an excellent actress, making memorable appearances in everything from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to Milk, including her incredible lead roles in the two Goon films and the shows The Newsroom and In Treatment. So it was a delight to see the formidable actor starring alongside the inimitable Patrick Stewart in the highly-buzzed original Paramount+ show (formerly CBS All Access) Star Trek: Picard. Pill played Agnes Jurati, a cyberneticist who approaches Captain Picard about joining his mission on the ship La Sirena....

V/H/S/99 marks another addition to the V/H/S franchise, giving viewers five segments of found footage terror following the 2012 release of V/H/S, V/H/S/2 in 2013, V/H/S: Viral in 2014, and V/H/S/94 in 2021. “I think we’re all pretty excited to be part of the great legacy V/H/S has. 20th Century Fox is currently eyeing Chronicle director Josh Trank to take over the helm of their Fantastic Four reboot. But the studio is waiting to see how Chronicle, his directorial debut, opens over Super Bowl weekend before officially offering him the job. Chronicle is a found-footage faux-documentary about a group of three high school friends who acquire an extraordinary set of telepathic powers. This superhero thriller is garnering a lot of buzz inside the filmmaking world, and word is 20th Century Fox has a hit on their hands....

The Good Five episodes with three commentary tracks is a pretty good deal for consumers. The Bad It would have been nice if the commentary tracks would have included some of the cast members, too. Comprised of five episodes the Friends: The One with All the Babies DVD is a quick assort of episodes dealing with guess what? Babies. I think the biggest joke of all was seeing these self absorbed characters have to deal with young children....

“Let it Go” might not be on the Frozen 2 soundtrack, but still the album was a chart-topping masterpiece with memorable, award winning songs. Being the second highest-grossing animated film of all time, Frozen 2 performed even better than its predecessor, and after the 2013 smash hit story of the ice queen and her optimistic sister, anyone could expect this 2019 sequel would live up to expectations. As with the first movie, Frozen 2’s songs were written by husband and wife team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez....

Comic-Con 2017 is in full swing and today was the day for the HBO Game of Thrones panel. The panel was moderated by none other than Hodor (Kristian Nairn) himself, and he looked a lot better than the last time we saw him on the show. Nairn walked out on stage said “Hodor” and then acted like he was going to walk off stage, which gave the crowd a good laugh....

HBO Global Licensing is constantly raising the bar on brand extensions for their hit shows, and they’re showing their creativity once again through a new partnership with Brewery Ommegang to release a series of themed beers based on the critically-acclaimed drama, Game of Thrones. Unlike previous efforts by brewers, which were typically executed as ‘brewed under license’ arrangements or straightforward product placement pushes, the collaboration between Ommegang and HBO is focused on developing truly unique beers that directly tie into themes, characters and nuances of the series of the medieval-like fantasy realm of Westeros and surrounding kingdoms....

Claire Forlani joins the cast of CSI: NY in a recurring role as the CSI team’s new medical examiner, who also happens to be in a relationship with Det. Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise). She makes her first appearance in the series’ third season premiere, titled “People with Money,” to be broadcast Wednesday, Sept. 20 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Forlani plays Dr. Peyton Driscoll, the team’s beautiful and sharp new coroner who is from London and completed her education in America....

Prepare to have a Close Encounter in November. Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s critically acclaimed classic, will be released on Blu-ray Disc and standard DVD in multi-disc sets as Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition on November 13th by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of this motion picture, which Gene Shalit called “one of the most spectacular movies ever made,” the set incorporates all three versions of the film, including the first-ever home video release of the 1977 Original Theatrical edition, as well as the re-edited 1980 theatrical Special Edition and Spielberg’s definitive Director’s Cut (released in 1998 as the Collector’s Edition)....

Following its debut Thursday night at San Diego Comic-Con, Roadside Attractions has released the new trailer for Branded, a new dystopian thriller from directors Jamie Bradshaw and Aleksandr Dulerayn. Corey Feldman recently wrapped filming on the upcoming third installment of the popular Frog Brothers’ franchise Lost Boys 3: The Thirst. After a somewhat tumultuous year for the popular actor, our favorite genre icon has finally returned from South Africa, were filming took place. He is refreshed and ready to take on a whole slew of new projects in 2010. On June 12 some Creatures will be coming to DVD! In a story from Home Media Magazine, they report that Creature Features will hit DVD June 12 from Elite Entertainment. The film is “a documentary that explores the history of monsters in cinema through three installments: The Beasts, The Machine and The Dead. Each installment features an assortment of film clips from appropriate movies; The Dead, about killers who come back from the dead, has clips from such classic films as Nosferatu, The Mummy and Night of the Living Dead....

Visionary filmmaker David Lynch will make his solo debut as a musical artist this fall with Crazy Clown Time. Produced and written by David Lynch, the album’s 14 original songs spotlight him on guitar and vocals. The album will be released on November 8 by independent British label Sunday Best Recordings / PIAS in America. Two tracks released late last year - “Good Day Today” and “I Know” - already have American and British critics buzzing about the album....
