You can relive one haunting movie experience all over again on DVD and 1080p this October. Faces of Death will be re-released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 7. We have no cover art as of now, but the standard disc will be priced at $24.98 SRP while the Blu-Ray will be priced at $29.98 SRP. The documentary stars Michael Carr as pathologist Frances B. Gross. Called “the ultimate taboo tape” by Entertainment weekly, Faces of Death is the most controversial, critically reviled and fastest selling documentary in home video history....

The first images of Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret has been unveiled. Based on Judy Blume’s widely celebrated and banned 1970 novel of the same name, the adaptation will be written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, a lifelong fan of Blume. Previously, Craig had made The Edge of Seventeen, starring Hailee Steinfeld, which was a factor in finally getting the book turned into a movie. The adaptation will star Abby Ryder Forston as Margaret Simon, a sixth-grader struggling with religion in her interfaith family on top of other adolescent worries....

Placing physical media at the center of the digital revolution, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment gives consumers ultimate flexibility with the release of several best-selling DVDs with Digital Copy on September 23. Fox Broadcasting Company has ordered many of its current series back to production and has announced airdates for spring 2008. Among the series slated to return are Bones (April 14), Back to You (April 16), ‘Til Death (April 16) and House M.D. (April 28). 24 will also return to conclude production on its seventh season, but the Emmy-winning series starring Kiefer Sutherland will not premiere until January 2009, allowing the drama to once again run 24 episodes consecutively....

FX announced the return dates of two of its award-winning dramas, Nip/Tuck and Damages. The continuation of the fifth season of Nip/Tuck begins on Tuesday, January 6 at 10 PM E/P for eight weeks, while the second season of Damages premieres on Wednesday, January 7 at 10 PM E/P with 13 new episodes. Nip/Tuck revolves around the lives of Dr. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon), two plastic surgeons, close friends and business partners who run McNamara/Troy, an overwhelmingly successful plastic surgery practice....

Last week, we reported that actresses Chloe Moretz and Haley Bennett were the front runners to star in MGM’s horror remake Carrie. Today we have word that the studio issued a formal offer to Chloe Moretz for the title role. The actress also responded to the offer through her Twitter page, which essentially confirms she will be locked in for the part very soon. It is said that director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) had her eye on the Hugo star this whole time, and was offered the role immediately after meeting with the filmmaker last weekend....

After a recurring role as Lindsey McDonald on Angel, the actor/singer has appeared in such films as Friday Night Lights and Taxi and after another stint on TV as Jack Chase on Close to Home, Kane has finally found the role he has always wanted as Elliot Spencer on the hit TNT series, Leverage, which concludes it’s first season with a two-part finale that starts tonight, February 17, at 9 PM ET on TNT and will conclude on Tuesday, February 24 at 9 PM ET on TNT....

For awhile, people wrongfully assumed that director Clint Eastwood’s next project was a long overdue fifth sequel to his original 1971 cop drama Dirty Harry. But that information was proven false. As it turns out, Gran Torino is actually about an old racist man that bonds with an ethnic teenager over their shared love of cars. Now, Eastwood has spoken out on the film. In an interview published by USA Today, Clint described his Gran Torino character while out promoting The Changeling....

Vincent (Tom Cruise) is a contract killer in Los Angles for one night to eliminate five targets who are going to declare in a grand-jury case. Max (Jamie Foxx) is a taxi driver with grandeur dreams of having a limousine business. Vincent gets in the cab and decides that Vincent is going to be his ride for the whole night. Their cat-and-mouse game starts there and doesn’t stop until the end of the movie....

After three seasons on ABC, the comedy series Cougar Town moved to its new home on TBS last year for Season 4. With one season at their new network home under their belt, the Cul-de-Sac Crew is back for more wine, Penny Can, and much more when Season 5 returns Tuesday, January 7 at 10 PM ET with “All of Nothing”. I recently had the chance to speak with series stars Courteney Cox (Jules Cobb) and Josh Hopkins (Grayson Ellis), who reveal that Penny Can has become a global sensation (which earns some significant money for Brian Van Holt’s Bobby Cobb) in the season premiere....

Belly up to the bar on Blu-Ray this April. Coyote Ugly will be released in Blu-Ray on April 1. The disc will be priced at $29.99 SRP. The film stars Piper Perabo, John Goodman, Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan and Tyra Banks. Aspiring songwriter Violet Sanford (Perabo) leaves her home and father (Goodman) for New York. But all she finds there is rejection. She hears one of a group of beautiful women is leaving her job in a bar called Coyote Ugly....

HBO has dropped a new teaser for Curb Your Enthusiasm season 10. Larry David is back for the first time since 2017 in the latest promo for these upcoming episodes, and it is set to test everyone’s patience. David shocked fans when he returned to the show in 2017 after a six-year hiatus with a season which was on par with some of the best the long-running show has ever delivered....

David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation of Dune, a science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, is a particularly divisive film. Thanks in part to its troubled production, Lynch has stated publicly that he views it as the only failure of his career. Per IndieWire, he goes so far as to call it “a huge sadness in [his] life.” It’s also the only film for which he didn’t have final edit privileges, meaning the version we see is the studio’s cut....

We can expect more sci-fi drama coming down the pipeline from David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). The writer-producer has signed a multi-year overall deal with Skydance Television, expanding his already strong relationship with the studio. Under the new agreement, he will create, develop and produce original series through his production banner, Phantom Four. President of Skydance Television, Marcy Ross, had this to say about the prolific creator....

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Dixie Carter has (Designing Women) passed away at age 70. The actress died Saturday morning, according to publicist Steve Rohr. He represents Carter and her husband, actor Hal Holbrook. He did not offer the cause of death or where she died. Carter had lived with Holbrook in the Los Angeles area. “This has been a terrible blow to our family,” Holbrook stated. “We would appreciate everyone understanding that this is a private family tragedy....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has kicked off its international box office with a very strong opening day performance. Thursday receipts for the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of 2022 brought in over $27 million overseas, which puts the film only 4% behind the opening days takings of Spider-Man: No Way Home back in December 2021. Considering how that movie ended up being a record-breaker, this will be an encouraging start for Marvel Studios and could see the opening weekend total end above expectations....

Samuel Anderson (The History Boys, Gavin and Stacey, Emmerdale) is set to join the cast of Doctor Who as a recurring character in Season 8, which will also introduce Peter Capaldi as the Doctor to millions of viewers for the first time. Anderson will play Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill School where companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) also teaches. On joining the show Samuel Anderson had this to say in a statement....
