Ealing Studios has announced several production deals. The studio is developing an adaptation of Irwin Shaw’s novel Nightwork with Dustin Hoffman attached to star. According to The Hollywood Reporter, How to Train Your Dragon co-writer William Davies has signed on to pen the script based on Shaw’s tale of a hotel security guard who discovers a dead woman with $100,000 lying around her room. Ealing also has brought in Richard Warlow to pen a $30 million art world thriller named All That Glitters, which it hopes to have before cameras in 2011....

Baby Driver director Edgar Wright has cast doubt over returning to helm a potential sequel, with the filmmaker concerned about doing the same thing twice. Speaking in a conversation with No Time to Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga, Wright does confirm that he has now written a script for Baby Driver 2 but stipulates that he has to find a way to make the project fun for himself before he’ll consider returning to the director’s chair....

The upcoming action movie sequel Fast X will see Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto on dad duty, as the follow-up casts Cheaper by the Dozen actor Leo Abelo Perry as Dom’s son. This casting news comes courtesy of Variety, who reveal that Perry will portray Brian Marcos, the son of Dom, played by Vin Diesel, and Elena Neves, played by Elsa Pataky, who was last seen as a toddler in the ninth installment in the franchise, F9, which hit theaters back in June 2021....

AMC’s original series Fear the Walking Dead, will return for the second half of season three with two back-to-back episodes on Sunday, September 10th beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, as announced during last night’s Talking Dead. The second half will consist of eight episodes. The #2 drama on cable, and #4 cable series overall, Fear the Walking Dead is executive produced by Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert....

According to LA.com, Oscar nominee Felicity Huffman (Transamerica) will be starring in The Accordion, a big-screen romantic comedy reteaming renowned director/producer Norman Jewison with his Moonstruck screenwriter, John Patrick Shanley: “I’m working on the screenplay now with John, and Felicity wants to do it, but it’s always a matter of availability,” notes Jewison, whose 1987 Moonstruck garnered a Best Picture nomination and earned Oscars for both Shanley and the flick’s star, Cher....

Last night, AMC aired a Walking Dead Season 7 preview special, with Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick and guests Austin Amelio (Dwight) and actress Yvette Nicole Brown. Before this special, the only footage we’ve seen is the first trailer from Comic-Con. Now, AMC has debuted a new scene which you can check out below, presumably from the Season 7 premiere, featuring the Savior Dwight. Some believe this clip could reveal the fate of Dwight’s nemesis, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), but others aren’t so sure....

New York Times claims that the legal battles going on between Fox and Warner Bros. over the release of Watchmen are getting extremely sticky. As of now, Watchmen is still scheduled to be released on March 6th, 2009. Fox has said it will seek an injunction blocking Warner’s planned release of the film next March. Warner has argued that Fox should not be allowed to stop the movie, after standing by while Warner and its partners on the film, Paramount Pictures and Legendary Pictures, spent more than $100 million on the production, directed by Zack Snyder (300)....

The upcoming Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, will not be a chase movie like its Academy Award-winning predecessor Mad Max: Fury Road. Instead, Furiosa will approach the early years of the character with a more “traditional three-act" structure, according to Fury Road producer and first assistant director P. J. Voeten, who has discussed the project for the behind-the-scenes book “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road,” by Kyle Buchanan....
