Constance Wu, star of Fresh Off the Boat, Hustlers, and Crazy Rich Asians, has finally returned to the world of social media (and cyber harassment) after a three-year hiatus. Triggering the actress’s return to social media is her decision to promote her upcoming memoir, Making a Scene, that will be published this fall. Wu made the announcement of her return to social media to promote Making a Scene via Twitter. She also revealed that she attempted suicide following the backlash against the actress after her 2019 tweets expressing frustration with the renewal of her ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat....

It sounds like Constantine 2 with Keanu Reeves will be much more brutal than the original. Released in 2005 by director Francis Lawrence, Constantine was developed as a PG-13 movie, meaning there were deliberate efforts made to pull back on the violence and other R-rated aspects to appease the MPAA. However, the film was ultimately given an R-rating anyway, though Lawrence still feels that it should’ve been PG-13. In any case, lessons were learned, and Lawrence wants to push that rating to its limit this time with the upcoming sequel....

James Cameron’s new film Avatar could face some legal scrutiny after it was revealed there were certain similarities between Avatar and Delgo, a film considered to be one of the lowest-grossing films in history. Starz Entertainment and BBC Worldwide Productions announced today that groundbreaking composer Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica) will serve as the musical composer for the upcoming historical fantasy Da Vinci’s Demons, which will premiere on Starz in the U.S. and will be distributed by BBC Worldwide in international territories in Spring 2013. The eight-episode series, written by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) who also directed the first two episodes, follows the ‘untold’ story of the world’s greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence....

The thriller genre is getting a new addition in March 2022. Deep Water, the movie which is famed for bringing Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas together, has been labeled an “erotic thriller”. The movie is based on a 1957 novel of the same name, authored by Patricia Highsmith, who also wrote The Talented Mr. Ripley. Given the novel that the movie is being adapted from and the producer of the movie, Adrian Lyne, Deep Water has an intriguing foundation....

In another example of how video games and DVDs are driving the entertainment industry, Warner Home Video is scheduling the release of it’s “Definitive” Dirty Harry Collection with the release of Warner Bros. Interactive’s “Dirty Harry” video game. In a story from Yahoo!, the announcement of this double release was made at the E3 video game conference. Clint Eastwood is producing and starring in the game as well as consulting on the box set DVD release....

District 9 director Neill Blomkamp has once again asserted that the long, long-awaited science-fiction sequel is still coming. The Taurus World Stunt Foundation announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will host the 2007 Taurus World Stunt Awards taking place on Sunday, May 20th at Paramount Pictures. There are very few horror movie franchises that don’t end on a final scene that leaves the door ajar for a sequel. While 2013’s Evil Dead reboot did just that, it also bucked a trend to previous movies in the series when it allowed Jane Levy’s traumatized protagonist to walk away from the horrors of the cabin in the woods. However, director Fede Alvarez has released a short alternative scene that was initially going to end the movie on a very familiar note, but it was cut thanks to an intervention from producer and original Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi....
