Every once in a while I see a film that just blows my expectations away completely. Lars and the Real Girl is daringly original, a whimsical story about finding love and understanding in unusual places. Ryan Gosling shines as Lars, a gentle introvert struggling with loneliness. His family, friends, and coworkers try to help him socialize, but he always wants to be alone. They are delighted when Lars informs them that his internet girlfriend ‘Bianca’ is coming to visit, but are then dismayed when the girlfriend turns out to be an ultra-realistic love doll....

The titular hero in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian shares passing similarities with another fan-favorite character from the original trilogy: Boba Fett. They wear the same uniform and are both bounty hunters. A thrilling season of The Book of Boba Fett released earlier this year, while The Mandalorian season 3 is expected to premiere in 2023, hopefully, sooner rather than later. With The Mandalorian, Disney has distanced the titular character from Boba Fett and his father, Jango, who both feature in the Star Wars films....

Fear the Walking Dead finally hits a season five stride with another character crossover. Dwight (Austin Amelio) makes his long awaited appearance in “Humbug’s Gulch”. Colman Domingo’s second foray as director interspersed the usual sappy dialogue with a hail of bullets and a genuinely surprising twist. John (Garret Dillahunt) and June (Jenna Elfman) shoot up an old west theme town. Morgan (Lennie James), Luciana (Danay Garcia), and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) make another discovery about the gruesome roadblocks....

It’s summertime in Hawkins and things look pretty normal. Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) is the focus of the latest clip from Stranger Things season 3 as the show flips the script on a famous 1980s movie scene. The tone is light and comical, which is a pretty far cry from what the season will actually be when it premieres later this summer. Both Billy and Max (Sadie Sink) have been added as fulltime members of the cast for season 3 and they’re featured in the latest character posters to promote the upcoming season, along with the rest of the cast....

The Punisher season 2 is heading to Netflix very soon. It’s been a busy, and in many ways disappointing year for Netflix’s little corner of the Marvel universe. It looks like the street-level hero business (or anti-hero in this case) is set to continue sooner rather than later, as Frank Castle will be making his way back to the streaming service in January 2019. While Netflix hasn’t announced a specific return date, the company did reveal that the series is indeed returning next month....

Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, today unveiled the Fox primetime schedule for the 2010-2011 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Programming Presentation at The New Beacon Theatre. “Fox has been the No. 1 network for six consecutive seasons not only because our programs are hits, but also because they’re the most engaging shows on television,” said Rice....

Be it on TV or on the big screen, there is a lot of reboots, revivals and retooling of old properties that people feel nostalgic about. Earlier this year, Netflix was able to capitalize on some of that 90s nostalgia in a massive way with their Full House revival series, Fuller House. The show was a massive hit for the streaming service so naturally, a second season is happening, and we just learned some pretty big details about the upcoming new episodes....

Gabrielle Anwar and her hit series Burn Notice have been heating up the cable airwaves since the series’ return to the USA Network a few weeks ago, with ratings for the series through the roof. Anwar, who plays the lovely and mysterious Fiona on the series, recently held a conference call to talk about the series’ new episodes, which air on Thursday nights at 9 PM ET on the USA Network....

Game of Thrones, the seminal R-rated fantasy series created by HBO (based on the Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R.R. Martin), ended with its divisive eighth season back in 2019. Considered one of the best fantasy shows ever made, Game of Thrones raked in immense critical and fan appraisal through its first five seasons, while bringing in over $2 billion USD total during its eight-season run. Starring Sean Bean, Kit Harrington, and Sophie Turner (and launching the careers of many other actors and actresses), Game of Thrones followed the Stark family through the most tumultuous time period in the history of the Kingdom of Westeros....

Chris Hardwick is heading back to AMC to host Talking Dead. Hardwick was subject to sexual assault and abuse claims by his former girlfriend and actress Chloe Dykstra in June. Though Dykstra did not name Hardwick in her essay, it became clear that he was the subject of her lengthy and troubling allegations. AMC decided to remove him as host of Talking Dead following the allegations, in order to perform an investigation....

Cost of a Soul is a movie most have likely not heard of, unless you were a regular on the festival circuit over the past few years. This drama, which centers on two Iraq War veterans who return to their hometown of North Philadelphia, and who both fall into troubling circumstances, played at the 2010 Hollywood Film Festival, 2010 Cinequest, 2011 Philadelphia Cinefest, where it won the Audience Award, and many others....

Elliot Stabler might be getting his own spin-off series separate from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but Christopher Meloni is still suggesting the iconic character will reunite with Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson. As has been reported, Meloni will reprise the role of Stabler for the new upcoming Law & Order series, this one sub-titled Organized Crime. This means Stabler will be working on different cases, but given the character’s history with Benson, Meloni has stated how their inevitable reunion needs to happen....

Upon its release back in 2019, the sci-fi action film Code 8 was a huge hit on Netflix. Currently titled as Code 8: Part II, the upcoming sequel will see the return of Robbie Amell (The Tomorrow People, Upload) and Stephen Amell (Arrow, Heels) returning for their roles as Connor Reed and Garret. The sequel was first announced during the Banff World Media Festival back in June 2021, which also marks the first Canadian-English language feature acquisition....

Graduating from college and entering the real world isn’t easy, especially for these three unmotivated roommates! Comedy Central greenlights Workaholics from Avalon Television, Inc. and Gigapix Studios, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production, Comedy Central. The 10-episode half-hour weekly scripted series set to premiere this summer stars Mail Order Comedy’s Blake Anderson, Anders Holm, Adam Devine and several episodes will be directed by Kyle Newacheck....

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have agreed to a three-season extension for cable’s top-rated animated series and entered into a momentous joint venture with COMEDY CENTRAL to create South Park Digital Studios, it was announced today by Doug Herzog, president, MTV Networks’ Entertainment Group, a division of Viacom’s MTV Networks. The strategic alliance includes the formation of a digital animation studio at South Park headquarters in Los Angeles that will serve as the new home for all digital extensions of the South Park franchise as well as an incubator for new animated projects....

Production on Creed 3 is now well underway and, other than seeing Michael B. Jordan return to both direct and star in the boxing sequel, the movie will also find Thor: Love and Thunder actress Tessa Thompson reprise the role of Bianca Taylor. An aspiring musician with progressive hearing loss and now the love-interest of Jordan’s Adonis Creed, Thompson has been discussing how she hopes to continue to give Bianca her own agency, with the actress revealing to The Hollywood Reporter that she has been given a lot of room improvise in the sports drama threequel....

The Universal Pictures animated hit movie Despicable Me will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D on December 14. We don’t have pricing details as of yet, but the movie will be released in a single-disc DVD, two-disc DVD, three-disc Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and a four-disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack. Dexter, America’s favorite serial killer, is returning to TV! After debuting the final four episodes on Netflix this past New Year’s Eve, the acclaimed drama series will make its basic cable world premiere on NUVOtv starting January 14. We recently caught up with two of the series most beloved characters, David Zayas, who plays Sgt. Angel Batista, and Lauren Vélez, who plays Capt. Maria LeGuerta. Actor Jason Gedrick has joined the cast of the Showtime Emmy-nominated drama series Dexter for Season 7. Gedrick, who will appear in a multi-episode arc, will play the manager of a Miami-area gentlemen’s club that becomes linked to a high-profile murder case. Production on Dexter begins in May in Los Angeles and will premiere on Showtime on Sunday, September 30th at 9:00 PM ET/PT. Jason Gedrick has had leading roles in several films including Iron Eagle and The Heavenly Kid....
