FXX has ordered 10 episodes of the comedy series Man Seeking Woman, starring Jay Baruchel from former Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. The series will air on FXX and premiere in 2015. A sweet and absurd look at the surreal life-and-death stakes of dating, Man Seeking Woman centers on “Josh Greenberg” (Baruchel), a naive romantic on a desperate quest for love....

HBO’s Game of Thrones is still in production on its eighth and final season, with the premiere confirmed to debut in 2019, after rumors were swirling around for months. Another hot topic of conversation within the Game of Thrones realm is the five spin-off shows, which HBO and author George R.R. Martin are developing with five different writers. While there is still no indication what these shows are about, or which of the five may move forward, HBO president Casey Bloys revealed at the network’s TCA Winter Tour presentation that there will be no spin-off debuting in 2019, and the earliest one would debut is 2020....

Actress Charlize Theron may be taking on the villain role in Snow White and the Huntsman. This news comes just days after we reported that Angelina Jolie was showing interest in the project. The Playlist indicates that Charlize Theron has a gap in her schedule since Mad Max: Fury Road got delayed until 2012. Tom Hardy is also close to signing onto Snow White and the Huntsman as the Huntsman. Hardy was slated to star in Mad Max: Fury Road alongside Theron....

The chickens are coming home to roost once again. Aardman Animation is gearing up to release a sequel to Chicken Run, their wildly popular 2000 animated film. Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is set to be released in 2023. The original Chicken Run is currently the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film of all time, drawing more than $224 million at the box office. It was also the first full-length film produced by Aardman....

Ever since we first saw the trailer for Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow (viewable here), we’ve wanted to know more about this film, and thanks to writer Chris Yost, now we do. In an interview posted over at Marvel.com, Yost describes a bit of what we can expect from the animated feature. The film is set in the future, when the children of the Avengers learn they must follow in their parents footsteps after Ultron returns to threaten the planet....

Jonathan Majors is pairing with Michael B. Jordan for Creed III, and their relationship was tested throughout the production process. Jordan is making his directorial debut with the third Creed film, while Majors is joining for the first time as Damian “Dame” Anderson, Adonis Creed’s childhood friend who has spent the better part of his life in prison. Majors recently sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he discussed trading punches with his own director and the bond they formed while filming Creed III....

Director Danny Boyle has found his follow-up to 127 Hours with the new heist drama Trance, which he will squeeze in just before directing the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The story will center on an art heist gone wrong, and will mark his return to darker material seen in such earlier work as Shallow Grave and Trainspotting. It isn’t clear who wrote the screenplay for Trance, and no other story details were given....

Everybody’s favorite serial killer is coming back for Showtime’s limited Dexter revival series. Michael C. Hall is all set to return as Dexter Morgan in a new 10-episode limited series that will reunite the actor and original showrunner Clyde Phillips. The new limited series is set to begin production in early 2021, with a tentative premiere date in the fall of 2021. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc....

The classic sci-fi show Doctor Who follows the title Doctor, who travels through time and space. Many actors have taken on the main role, as the Doctor often regenerates into a new form. Jodie Whittaker took over the role from 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi in 2017, with her first full episode premiering the following year. She made history as the first woman to take on the role, but she also brought a light touch and intelligent, energetic fun to the show....

Paul Soter, founding member of the Broken Lizard Comedy troop, actor and writer of films Beerfest, Super Troopers and The Slammin’ Salmon and director of the soon to be released film, Dark Circles, has agreed to write the film adaption of legendary comic book creator, Larry Hama’s cult favorite comic Dr. Deth with Kip and Muffy. The film will be produced by Framelight Productions. Soter was drawn to the project by the history of the property and the fact that this is a chance to create a world where normal rules of life, physics and everything else do not exist....

Since his directorial debut with American Beauty in 1999, Sir Sam Mendes has made an impressive run of modern classics, from Road to Perdition (2002) to Jarhead (2005) to Revolutionary Road (2008) to Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015) to 1917 (2019); a body of work which lead to the director being knighted by the Prince of Wales in 2020. The Crow will always be remembered for the accidental shooting of actor Brandon Lee, and for that reason popular Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson does not really want to see any remakes of the movie. The film was released in 1994, and starred 28 year old Lee in the role of Eric Draven, a musician who returns from the dead to avenge the death of himself and his fiancée. Ernie Hudson played police sergeant Daryl Albrecht, a cop who aids Draven in his mission....

The mystery has been solved: DB Cooper has been identified, at least according to the new documentary I Am DB Cooper. Coming to theaters with a simultaneous On Demand release on Friday, Dec. 9, the doc introduces Rodney Bonnifield, an old man who claims to be the DB Cooper, the mysterious robber who parachuted from a hijacked plane with a load of stolen cash and was never seen again. As it’s easy for anyone to make such a claim, viewers will obviously be skeptical, but the documentary is said to have solid proof that Bonnifield is the infamous hijacker....
