New York City’s Comic Con was the scene of gushing fan-gasms as the faithful flocked to see the stars of Hellboy II: The Golden Army. I’m talkin crowds, wrapped around like noodles, for a chance to see everyone’s favorite ass kicking demon, sans the red make-up, and the rest of the original gangster BPRD crew. The panel was hilarious with monsters on stage and more cursing from Guillermo Del Toro than I’ve ever seen at a public event....

Fear the Walking Dead season 5 is now less than a month away from premiering and AMC has released a sneak peek at what fans can expect. In addition to the scene featuring Morgan Jones and Alicia, the network has released some pretty awesome key-art to get fans excited for the premiere on June 2nd. The art teases some pretty serious business and it looks like Alicia may have a pretty interesting new ability when season 5 drops in a few weeks....

Sherman’s March from The History Channel covers the five week run in which General William Tecumseh Sherman and his troops captured Atlanta, GA then they marched to Savannah and captured that city, and from there they marched to Columbia, capturing that capital of South Carolina. In waging what was known as “total war,” Sherman and the Union soldiers basically ended the Civil War, defeating the Confederacy. Generally, this seems be thought of as a good thing as it brought all the states back into the Union and it helped outlaw slavery in this country....

The cheer comedy spawned six sequels following the success of the first film, including the latest installment Bring It On: Cheer or Die—the franchise’s first horror film. Union, who rose to fame after playing East Compton Clovers captain Isis, teased the possibility of yet another sequel involving her character at the 2022 Daytime Beauty Awards on Sunday....

Former Saturday Night Live star Chevy Chase shared some new stories about fellow alum John Belushi, and among them was an allegation of stolen drugs. Chase and Belushi have the distinction of being two of the original seven cast members of the long-running sketch comedy series that continues to air new episodes to this day. The two were friends, though Chase says there was a situation where his Belushi pilfered his vial of cocaine from him on the set of SNL....

Fans of 80s cartoons looking for something to watch have reason to celebrate. Hasbro has released a selection of episodes from G.I. Joe on YouTube to stream for free. This was the original animated series based on the iconic line of action figures and, likely for many people of a certain age, it was their first exposure to the pop culture icons. Now, some of those nostalgic memories can be revisited rather conveniently....

Today at the 2006 Comic-Con International Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino presented a clip from the Robert Rodriguez portion of the their double feature Grindhouse. Titled Planet Terror this 4-5 minute clip opened with the same Technicolor type opening that “Kill Bill” had. Riffing on the old AIP pictures that delivered so many exploitation films from the past, the logo has been changed to RIP (Rodriguez International Pictures) and seems to uphold the tradition honorably....

The CW begins a nationwide search for mother-daughter teams (ages 18 and over) to compete in its upcoming reality series Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, an eight-episode competition that features the pairs working together to win a beauty pageant. The search includes open casting calls in four major cities - Orlando (March 3), Raleigh (March 3), Dallas (March 10) and Phoenix/Tempe (March 10). Henry Selick, the acclaimed stop-motion animation director responsible for the Christmas/Halloween extravaganza Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D, is returning next February with a brand new feature film entitled Coraline. Based on Neil Gaiman’s award winning children’s novel, Coraline follows the adventures of a young girl that travels to a parallel reality where life is not exactly what it seems. Selick is very excited about his upcoming project, and he simply can’t wait for all of us to see it....

Public Media Works, Inc. announced that the Company will begin preproduction on The Clown, a concept originally conceived as a vehicle for Company CEO Corbin Bernsen to star in following his success in the Dentist horror film franchise. “The Clown is the tragic and frightening tale of a circus clown who is jilted by a female trapeze artist also with the circus,” stated Corbin Bernsen, Chief Executive Officer of Public Media Works, “It is a gripping story which ends with a shocking ironic twist....

The life of hit songwriter Diane Warren is one of four projects that Craig Zadan and Neil Meron’s Storyline Entertainment for Lifetime Television. The Hollywood Reporter notes the show centers on a fictional female songwriter who is in the midst of trying to start her burgeoning career and has to deal with her large, overbearing and dysfunctional family. It will feature music from Warren’s catalog, including her most recognizable hits as well as new tunes that she will write for the series....

In December of this year, The Rise of Skywalker, the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy will celebrate its four-year anniversary. In a new interview, veteran comedian and actor Dan Aykroyd addressed how one of the biggest hot-button issues of today is the subject of “cancel culture” and its affect on modern comedy. This has been made more apparent than ever over the past several weeks following the release of Dave Chappelle’s latest Netflix special, The Closer, which continues to generate controversy due to its inclusion of offensive jokes. The divisive topic has some arguing that comedians need to be given creative freedom while others say that there’s no place for “hurtful” jokes in today’s society....

DC’s League of Super Pets, DC Comics and Warner Brothers upcoming summer animated flick, is a new, unique direction for the DC Extended Universe movies. A new direction the studio hopes will impress critics and audience alike, with the release date of the movie up from late 2022 to the middle of the summer on July 29th, taking the place of the highly anticipated Black Adam. Led by the latest fan-favorite comedic duo of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (playing Krypto the Superdog) and Kevin Hart (playing Ace the Bathound), previously seen in the Jumanji films, League of Super Pets will follow a group of super-powered pets owned by each member of the Justice League, as the animals attempt to rescue their owners from the evil clutches of genius billionaire, Lex Luthor (played by Marc Maron)....

DirecTV has reached a new long-term agreement with Viacom to restore 17 channels (including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, Spike, CMT, TV Land and ten other channels) that Viacom had taken away from DirecTV customers on July 10. Viacom has returned all affected networks. Financial terms were not disclosed. In addition to the channels’ return, DirecTV customers will also gain the ability to see Viacom programming on tablets, laptops, handhelds and other personal devices via the DirecTV Everywhere platform....

ITV has released a trailer with the first footage from Season 5 of Downton Abbey. We reported in November that PBS has renewed Downton Abbey for Season 5, but the U.S. network normally airs the series a few months after it’s premiere in Great Britain. The Season 5 Premiere is expected to air on Sunday, January 4 in the U.S., but PBS hasn’t released a premiere date yet. While we wait for that announcement, check out the latest footage from the hit drama series....
