Producer Gabriela Gonzalez is a champion of the underrepresented. It’s why she and her producing partner Candy Ibarra formed Forward Motion Entertainment in 2021. Ibarra is Mexican-American, while Gonzalez is Cuban-American, and, after meeting at a mutual friend’s party, the two discovered that they, as Gonzalez puts it in our interview, “had a lot of the same sensibilities in terms of content and the things we wanted to make.” They had, in other words, grown tired of the predominantly two-dimensional characters and narratives the film industry was pushing about Latinx people....

RHI Entertainment and Larry Levinson Productions are going into production on Pandemic, a four-hour miniseries for Hallmark Channel that centers on a deadly unknown virus, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pandemic stars Tiffani Thiessen, Vincent Spano, Faye Dunaway, Eric Roberts, French Stewart, Bruce Boxleitner, Renee Taylor and Bob Gunton. The project tells the tale of what happens when inexplicable flu-like symptoms kill a young man aboard an airliner en route to Los Angeles from Australia....

A new trailer for Blumhouse’s Firestarter has been released. Based on the 1980 novel of the same name by Stephen King, the new film is directed by Keith Thomas and written by Scott Teems. Ryan Kiera Armstrong is introduced as the new Charlie, the fiery role originally played by Drew Barrymore in the 1984 film adaptation, with Zac Efron co-starring as her father Andy McGee. Kelsey Grammer continues to press on with the potential revival of Frasier, with the actor providing a somewhat vague but nonetheless promising update on the project. While it has been previously reported that the revival/reboot is indeed a go at Paramount+, Grammer’s insight sounds a little less confident, with the Cheers and Frasier star revealing that they are still “kicking it around.” As well as revealing that the studio (and presumably himself) is “pretty happy” with the idea that has been touted for Frasier’s long-awaited third act, Grammer still is not sure who, if any, of the original cast will return alongside him....

Youngjoo Hwang alleges that in 2015, Fred Savage created a hostile environment for her while she worked on in the wardrobe department of The Grinder. She alleges that the environment wasn’t just extremely hostile for her. She also claims that “aggressive behavior, intimidation, and constant use of profanities aimed toward female employees was left unchecked.” However, Fox is standing behind Savage in denying the claims, noting that an investigation had been conducted that found no wrong doing....

The highly anticipated Oppenheimer movie has made waves in the press as news broke of a historical nuclear explosion being recreated on set. That sentence alone sounds like a fever dream, and comically enough, Christopher Nolan fans on Twitter joked about the scenario back when the movie was in its early days of production. Oscar-winning actor Christopher Walken, one of the most revered talents of his generation and a veteran of film, television and stage, will portray the iconic Captain Hook in NBC’s Dec. 4 telecast of Peter Pan Live! It took a monster (literally) to unseat a pregnant teenage girl on home video. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cloverfield stormed onto the shelves and was tops in both DVD sales and rentals for the week ending April 27. The J.J. Abrams-produced flick bumped last week’s dual winner, Juno, down one notch to second place in both sales and rentals. A few other newcomers made some noise in the top 10 as well, though....

Today at 2006 Comic-Con International, Lionsgate previewed some of their upcoming horror/thriller releases. SKINWALKERS Up first was Skinwalkers presented by producer Stan Winston and director James Isaacs. Skinwalkers is a horror action film about a 12-year-old boy who suddenly finds himself at the center of a battle between two warring groups of werewolves. One group of werewolves is sworn to protect him, the other group is trying to kill him – and the young boy’s mother has to find out why her son is at the center of the conflict before time runs out...

TBS’ Conan is well-known for travelling to different parts of the world for special episodes, having previously shot in Ireland, Finland, and Toronto as well as U.S. cities such as New York, Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta. Deadline reports that host Conan O’Brien has hit the road once again, travelling to Cuba to film several segments for the March 4 episode of Conan, which will give viewers, “a rare glimpse into Cuban daily life....

News has been fast coming in about the Quantum Leap reboot. While we have casting information and a basic plot of the pilot, there’s still so much we don’t know about the reboot. One thing we do know is that one of the producers of the reboot is Martin Gero. And with Gero being one of the producers, it begs the question about whether or not there might be a connection between the Quantum Leap reboot and the Stargate franchise....

The upcoming origin story, Cruella, will debut on Disney+ on May 26, 2021. The announcement was made during the recent Disney Investors Day event, which featured updates and revelations aplenty regarding a whole host of Disney projects.
