Acclaimed and much buzzed-about new drama Gossip Girl has become the first new series picked up for a full season of episodes, it was announced by Dawn Ostroff, president, entertainment, The CW. “People everywhere are talking about ‘Gossip Girl’ and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz,” said Ostroff. “Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have created an incredibly heightened-reality world that viewers are locking into while advertisers, affiliates and press have also embraced the show....

ABC has set the premiere date for Dana Delany’s new procedural drama Body of Proof, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Body of Proof, which centers on a neurosurgeon turned medical examiner who solves crimes, will debut Tuesday, March 29 at 10 p.m. Detroit 1-8-7 currently occupies that slot, but will end its run after 18 episodes and will air following the Dancing with the Stars results show. Detroit 1-8-7 has received modest ratings and does not look like a good candidate for a second season....

A scooper over at Aint It Cool News has provided the site with what might possibly be a description for the next teaser trailer for JJ Abrams’ mysterious 1-18-08 / Cloverfield film. Thus far, this is only a rumor. I have for you a description of a unseen new sequence from the film you all know as Cloverfield. You know, the one with the monster? I can now safely say the teaser is not separate from the film, its part of the beginning which was shown in an abridged fashion for the purpose of the teaser, it’s longer in the movie....

Eternals may have set up a future role for Kit Harington in the MCU, but as of yet, he can’t say what that might be. As the format war continues one thing is clear… things are moving in a high definition direction. In a story from Home Media Magazine, the biggest debate at the annual Digital Hollywood conference in Santa Monica, Calif., seemed to be will the format war winner be HD-DVD or Blu-ray disc? According to Microsoft it doesn’t really matter. “I don’t know that [HD] will be delivered on an optical disc in five to 10 years,” said Richard Doherty, Microsoft’s program manager for Media Entertainment Convergence....
