Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) will waltz its way back to our screens tonight for its 31st season. For the first time ever, the dancing competition will not air on ABC, making a move to streaming on Disney+. It is the first show ever to air live on the streamer. The move is expected to introduce the series to younger audiences as the show has struggled to maintain its high viewership numbers since Tyra Banks took over hosting duties from fan-favorite Tom Bergeron in 2020....

Director Darren Aronofsky has agreed to direct the Mandalay Pictures adaptation of Machine Man, according to Heat Vision Blog. Darren Aronofsky will help develop the screenplay with his Black Swan co-writer Mark Heyman, working from Max Barry’s unfinished novel. We first reported last year that Mandalay Pictures had optioned the partial manuscript. Barry is publishing the novel one page a day as an online serial at his website, with Vintage Books publishing the entire novel next spring....

David Hillenbrand takes us on an unrated trip through Transylmania Transylmania, the latest comedy outing from Dorm Daze creators David and Scott Hillenbrand, is finally making its long awaited DVD debut on April 27th. The film reunites the cast from National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze franchise, and finds a motley crew of college students embarking on the wildest, sexiest, most outrageous semester abroad ever at famed Romanian cultural outpost Razvan University. Located deep in the heart of the “cursed land” of Transylvania in a centuries-old castle, Razvan isn’t your typical institution of higher learning....

X-Men star Hugh Jackman has revealed several details regarding how he plans to get back into Wolverine-esque shape for his return in Deadpool 3. And his plans largely consist of eating copious amounts of food. Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jackman explained how he is gradually working his way towards devouring 6,000 calories a day (the recommended daily calorie intake is 2,500) and is currently at a measly 4,500....

Dermot Mulroney, Donald Sutherland, Michael Vartan and Denise Richards have joined the cast of Jolene, director Dan Ireland’s new film starring newcomer Jessica Chastain in the title role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rupert Friend and Theresa Russell also are starring. Jolene, which is shooting in Arizona, is being produced by Next Turn Productions’ Riva Yares, who originally optioned the story, and Zachary Matz, who produced Ireland’s most recent film, the indie hit Mrs....

Disney’s 2022 slate kicked off in a major way with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, one of three films from Marvel Studios set to be released this year. Thor: Love and Thunder will be hitting theaters on July 8, and despite production delays and a lengthy shooting schedule, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is still being earmarked for a November premiere. During this week’s Disney earnings call, CEO Bob Chapek included the highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s Black Panther among the notable projects the House of Mouse is putting out into the world in 2022:...

They come out all the time but who would have known… According to a story from The Hollywood Reporter, sales of DVDs “are down nearly 8%, as of the first quarter.” Those in the know cite that studios are “focusing on the fourth quarter and cutting back on the rest of the year.” However, those in the know don’t think that “this is a strategic shift by studios to concentrate their bigger releases in the weeks leading up to the holidays, when consumer spending on DVDs traditionally reaches its peak....

With Ezra Miller’s reputation taking some heavy damage in recent months with one negative story after another hitting the headlines, there has been a lot of chatter about what the controversy means for The Flash. At this point, the superhero movie has been filmed, and given Miller’s prominence in the movie, it would be impossible to recast the role without having to basically reshoot the entire movie from scratch. It’s expected that Miller will remain in the film for the release of The Flash, though it seems most likely that their role of Barry Allen will be recast moving forward....

Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller had some interesting names in mind during the casting process. Before Tom Hardy came on board as Max Rockatansky, Miller had auditioned numerous actors, including many future Hollywood stars. Also on his shortlist were Eminem and Rihanna, who’ve now become one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Actresses Emma Roberts and AnnaSophia Robb have signed on for the drama Anything But Ordinary for Alloy Entertainment and Southpaw Entertainment. The story centers on a teenage diving phenom who suffers a horrific accident at the Olympic trials and slips into a coma for five years. When she finally wakes up, the young woman becomes a synesthe, someone who processes words and numbers through color, depth, and sound. Today, Disney+ announced that Marvel Studios’ Eternals, one of the biggest movies of the year, will start streaming exclusively on Disney+ on January 12, 2022. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest team of super heroes has led theater audiences on an exciting journey spanning thousands of years, and now the Eternals are bringing all of that signature Marvel Studios’ action, spectacle and thrill to Disney+. Eternals joins 13 other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies now streaming in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+, which gives subscribers more picture with an expanded aspect ratio for an immersive viewing experience at home (content availability varies by region)....

There have been many comments made in regards to Kit Harington’s appearance as Black Knight in Eternals, or more precisely his lack of appearance despite his character being listed as just that on many movie sites and cast lists. With the arrival of the movie two weeks ago it became immediately apparent that Harington’s role of Dane Whitman was much less substantial as many had hoped for, and other than a tease of “family history” being complex, and a post-credit scene set up for the future, he barely featured at all in the story....

Eva Longoria, Paul Rudd and Lake Bell have signed on for How I Met My Boyfriend’s Dead Fiance for Gold Circle Films, according to Variety. The film will start shooting Aug. 24 in Hollywood, with Jeff Lowell making his directorial debut. Lowell also wrote the screenplay which centers on a female psychic (Bell) who falls in love with a skeptic (Rudd) while the ghost of his dead fiance, played by Longoria, tries to keep them apart....

Robert (Finn Jones) and Maia (Jessica McNamee) are happily married and move back to her childhood home. Searching around the house, Robert finds old portraits in the attic with a figure that identically resembles him, referred to only as “The Visitor.” Troubled by the portraits, Robert begins a hunt to discover who the figure is, despite Maia’s attempts to reassure him. People around Robert and Maia begin turning up murdered, escalating Robert’s desperation for the truth and revealing family secrets along the way....
