New episodes of Dark Side of the Ring are reportedly in the works at Vice TV, and a handful of topics that will be covered have been revealed. PWInsider reports that filming has started on season 4 of the docuseries with different pro wrestling personalities getting interviewed. Among those said to be included for new interviews in season 4 are Mick Foley, Jim Cornette, Terry Funk, and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. The season has not been officially announced by Vice TV at this time, though the new report has also not been debunked....

Director Darren Aronofsky has now emerged as the main contender to direct Columbia Pictures’ upcoming graphic novel adaptation Preacher, according to Newsarama. We reported back in April that director Sam Mendes, who was originally signed to direct, was no longer attached to the project. Columbia Pictures is currently seeking a new director for a 2011 start date, and Darren Aronofsky is “being targeted” as the guy for the job. Award-winning director David Anspaugh (Rudy, Hoosiers) has finalized an agreement to direct Little Red Wagon, a feature film written by Patrick Sheane Duncan (Mr. Holland’s Opus) and inspired by the true story of 12-year-old homeless youth advocate Zach Bonner. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may have landed some mixed reviews from critics for being another heavily interlinked Marvel adventure, but that hasn’t made the slightest bit of difference when it comes to the movie’s box office standings at the end of its first weekend. As expected, the first Marvel theatrical release of 2022 has seen off all competition at the worldwide box office to claim the biggest opening weekend of the year so far and is already the third highest-grossing movie of the year with $450 million, as per Box Office Mojo....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the long-awaited sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange origin film, and is the 28th film in the MCU. Multiverse of Madness follows Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) who teams up with America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) as they travel across the Multiverse to prevent the Scarlet Witch from obtaining America’s universe-hopping powers. The film features a record number of cameo appearances from actors including John Krasinski and Bruce Campbell....

DreamWorks is set for the family adventure project The Defenders, conceived by Heroes actor Masi Oka, with D.J. Caruso in negotiations to direct. Gary Whitta will write the script, that will be produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on a group of mostly teenagers from around the world who are involved in a multiplayer video game, each unaware of who they really are behind the cover of their consoles and avatars....

Hugo star Asa Butterfield has been offered the lead role in Summit Entertainment’s adaptation Ender’s Game. It isn’t known if he plans to accept the offer yet. Ender’s Game is based on the award-winning sci-fi novel by Orson Scott Card, which revolves around a government program where gifted children are trained to prevent an imminent alien attack. They square off in a game described as a hybrid of Harry Potter’s Quiddich and Star Wars’ light saber duels....

Actor Eric Dane (X-Men: The Last Stand, Gideon’s Crossing) will join the cast of ABC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Grey’s Anatomy. Dane, who first appeared on the series last season in the episode entitled “Yesterday,” continues his role as plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Sloan, a.k.a. “McSteamy.” Dane was most recently seen in this summer’s blockbuster X-Men: The Last Stand. His extensive television work includes a recurring role on Charmed, Vegas, the made-for-tv movie Helter Skelter, and as a series lead on Gideon’s Crossing....

David Duchovny has announced his next writing project: a comic book. On June 7, 2022, Dark Horse Comics issued a press release announcing Kepler, a hardcover graphic novel co-written by Duchovny and Phillip Sevy (Tomb Raider, TRIAGE), who is also drawing, coloring, and lettering the graphic novel. The science-fiction story is “a tale of sentient life amongst the stars, inspired by allegorical sci-fi, like Planet of the Apes,” according to Dark Horse’s Twitter announcement....

Jon Hamm stars as a former reporter “of some repute,” in Confess, Fletch as he searches for his lover’s stolen art collection while simultaneously having to clear his name of murder. “I’m excited for a new generation to be introduced to this character. It’s a fun story, it’s a genuinely surprising mystery that gets unraveled, and it’s truly funny. Those are three things that I’ve enjoyed when I choose my entertainment… so, I think it’s a very exciting thing for people to see,” said Hamm....

The reviews for the latest installment in the Wizarding World franchise, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, have started pouring in, and despite the reviews so far being decidedly mixed, there seems to be one thing that many have agreed on: Mads Mikkelsen makes a much better Gellert Grindelwald than Johnny Depp. Beginning with Insider’s Kirsten Acuna, it sounds like the Hannibal star is so good in the villainous role that it’s easy to forget that Depp was ever involved in the first place....

Something Fantastic is coming to DVD June 5! In a story from DavisDVD, they report that the Fantastic Four: Extended Edition is going to hit DVD on that day from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. The first art for Daredevil season 3 has arrived online. Daredevil was the first live-action Marvel series to debut on Netflix and, quite arguably, remains the best of the bunch. Season 2 introduced us to The Punisher and took some big leaps forward and now, the third season is in production and is set to debut on Netflix later this year.
