Popular “everyman” actor Bill Paxton was on a roll in the 1990s. From Tombstone to Apollo 13, and Twister to Titanic, Paxton starred in some of the biggest movies of the decade. Disney must be putting together an A-list cast for the company’s upcoming live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The latest of the House of Mouse’s live-action reimaginings of their popular animated titles, the new Snow White movie has just picked up Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman, Red Notice) to star in an antagonist role as the Evil Queen. Following a whole lot of excruciating back and forth, we now know that Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin’s proposed Gambit movie is never going to happen. Thanks to this final decision, several details are now being brought to light, with Carolin revealing to The Playlist that the Gambit movie would have been akin to “mutant Goodfellas.” The more that is being revealed about the Gambit movie, the more interesting it sounds....

The excitement is brewing for Cobra Kai season 5 after the incredible events of the 4th season. Questions are being asked about what to expect and where the season could go. The fifth season did wrap filming in December, so this year may break the cycle of coming out close to New Year’s, but as for now, it is expected the fifth season will keep its schedule intact. One of the most anticipated new shows this coming fall season is the latest from J.J. After dominating the summer television landscape with a historic seven series on-air and capturing a sixth straight ratings win as cable’s top entertainment network, USA finalized its sweep of series pickups on all of its summer originals with 16-episode orders of season three of Covert Affairs, season four of Royal Pains and season two of Necessary Roughness. The renewals, which follow the season orders of White Collar, Suits, In Plain Sight and Burn Notice, were announced today by USA Co-Presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel....

The Da Vinci Code was the second highest-grossing movie of 2006, based on the equally successful book by Dan Brown and starring Tom Hanks in the lead role of Robert Langdon. While the film produced the sequels of Angels & Demons and Inferno, they both massively underperformed at the box office, killing off the chance of a fourth movie. However, a Peacock-produced series based on Brown’s novel The Lost Symbol arrived last year, giving the character of Robert Langdon another shot....

David Dastmalchian is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, although not as his previous character. He played hacker Kurt Goreshter in the previous two Ant-Man films, but will not be reprising this role, and instead appearing as a new character only known as Veb, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This character didn’t appear in the trailer released last night, so it’ll likely be a minor one....

Variety reports that Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin has divorced himself from Universal’s same-sex comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. The studio announced earlier this month that Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Dobkin were readying a comedy about two straight firefighters who pose as a gay married couple for insurance purposes. Dobkin dropped out abruptly on Wednesday, citing big creative differences, but his exit came before he had a pay or play deal, studio sources said....

Despite the highly anticipated Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness being less than two months away from release, Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that he is still filming reshoots. While attending the recent BAFTAs, Cumberbatch let slip (via Twitter user @SmilingBenedict) that he himself is still involved in filming additional scenes for the Doctor Strange follow-up. What extra madness could director Sam Raimi possibly be adding at this late stage?...

It’s a new beginning for the iconic series that explores all of space and time, as award-winning actor Peter Capaldi takes on the role of the mysterious time traveler, the Doctor. BBC America will launch Peter Capaldi’s first season of Doctor Who with special programming on the channel and theatrical events across the country with Fathom Events. Get ready to strike up the band again, special edition style. Fox Home Entertainment is releasing Drumline in a new special edition DVD, due out. January 29. This edition of the 2002 Nick Cannon hit will include an additional 10 minutes of extra footage not seen in the previous release. Synopsis Drumline brings the world of “show-style” marching bands (popular at traditionally black, Southern colleges) to the big screen for the first time....

Emily Mortimer and Larry the Cable Guy discuss their Cars 2 roles of Holley Shiftwell and Mater in this Pixar animated sequel Cars 2 is revving up its engines, ready to race into theaters June 24. And this Pixar animated sequel features some favorite characters from the original Cars, plus several new, international characters as well. During my trip to the Pixar facility in Emeryville, California back in March, I was able to sit down and talk with Larry The Cable Guy, who reprises his his as Mater role from the original, and Pixar newcomer Emily Mortimer, who voices the British spy car Holley Shiftwell....

Right now, there is a battle being waged between two different multiverse movies. The first is an indie production called Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michelle Yeoh as a laundromat owner who has to save the multiverse. The other is a blockbuster studio film called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as a surgeon turned sorcerer who has to save the multiverse. A loyal soldier of that battle is Everything Everywhere All at Once’s co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, who has taken the rival from Marvel to task in a series of Instagram posts....

Thomas Jane is famous for a lot of reasons, whether it’s the incredibly dark Stephen King movie adaptation The Mist, the unique HBO comedy-drama Hung, or the underrated sci-fi mystery The Expanse. He’s perhaps most infamous, though, for his appearance as the titular superhero in The Punisher, a Marvel movie that was arguably way ahead of its time. Coming years before the MCU and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, it’s possible that the film and Jane’s performance would have generated a ton more acclaim and ticket sales if it had been released just four of five years later....
