Jon Favreau’s Star Wars live-action TV series is getting ready to start filming, as evidenced by set photos. It’s believed that the mysterious new show will begin filming next week, which means that we should be getting some casting information and at least a brief storyline very soon. Little has been revealed about Favreau’s series, except that it takes place after the Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens, which doesn’t really say too much....

Entertainment Weekly debuted these new clips, the first of which features this hero offering a dose of justice to a group of gun-toting criminals, literally walking right through their gunfire. The second clip gives us a new glimpse of Arthur (Griffin Newman), who is clearly reluctant to be The Tick’s “sidekick.” Despite his initial hesitation, it seems he’ll likely come around, since creator Ben Edlund teased in his interview with EW that Arthur is essentially the “main character” of this season....

Robert Zemeckis’ 1994 masterwork Forrest Gump is known for many things. Former child star Jodie Sweetin hit the road when she was thrown to the ground by armored cops at an abortion rights protest, but fortunately, the Full House star did not suffer any serious injuries. On Sunday, Per TMZ, Sweetin had joined protesters in Los Angeles in condemning the United States Supreme Court for overturning Roe v. Wade, ending constitutional protection for abortions. In a viral video posted online by someone who recorded the incident, Sweetin can be seen standing on the side of the road with a megaphone in hand when a group of LAPD officers aggressively shove her toward street, causing her to take a fall on the pavement....

Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller has once again revealed just how epic the scope of the upcoming prequel, Furiosa, will be. Speaking with Deadline, Miller offered some insight into the direction of the project, which he describes as “a saga,” while revealing that the story of Furiosa will span 15 years. Miller hopes to do something different with Furiosa, all while keeping it within the same world as Fury Road....

Two weeks ago, Season 6 of the hit series reached its halfway mark with The Door, which served as a double-edged sword for fans of the lovable character Hodor (Kristian Nairn). Today we have new details from that episode’s director, Jack Bender, who also directed last week’s Blood of My Blood, with the filmmaker teasing that their original idea for the Hodor twist was actually much different....

Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Chris Evans will star as Captain America in the studio’s highly anticipated movie The First Avenger: Captain America directed by Joe Johnston from a script penned by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige will produce The First Avenger: Captain America. Alan Fine, Stan Lee, David Maisel, Stratton Leopold and Louis D’Esposito will executive produce. The film will be released in the US on July 22, 2011 and distributed by Paramount Pictures....

It appears fans will have to wait a little longer for Cobra Kai season 6. The acclaimed Karate Kid spinoff premiered on YouTube Red in 2018 before shifting base to Netflix from season three onwards. And now, five seasons in, Cobra Kai is still not showing any signs of slowing down and continues to get better. Cobra Kai season 5 premiered on Netflix earlier this month and immediately claimed the top spot in the streamer’s weekly most-watched titles rankings....

To create one classic comedy series is an achievement on its own, to create two takes a certain kind of talent. A kind of talent clearly possessed by Larry David, the co-creator of both Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. The two shows ushered in a span of nearly thirty-three straight years of consistent success from a Larry David product, with Seinfeld ending in 1998 and Curb Your Enthusiasm debuting in 2000....

Kids WB! has been the home for animated superheroes for years, with a lineage that can be traced back at least as far as Batman: The Animated Series. Since then there has been at least one superhero-themed cartoon in the Saturday morning line-up from Kids WB! ever since. Their current season includes The Batman, Legion of Super-Heroes and starting in March, The Spectacular Spider-Man. That may be coming to an end with the announcement that 4Kids Entertainment is taking over the CW’s Saturday morning kids block, beginning with the 2008-2009 season....

A little while ago, it was reported that Daniel Craig had been offered the title role of the Thunder God in Marvel’s Thor, but that he had turned it down to focus on playing James Bond. Well, in a recent interview with Cinema Blend, Craig revealed that not only was that rumor untrue, but that the source of the false rumor was none other than himself. That’s right. Craig made the statement about being offered the part in an interview with our friends at IESB....

The View, ABC’s Emmy Award-winning talk and entertainment program returns, live, Tuesday, Sept. 4 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET) for its 11th season with special guest star Danny DeVito. Among the most highly anticipated changes for the show this season is the addition of Whoopi Goldberg. Ms. Goldberg will serve as moderator, seated alongside fellow co-hosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Knives Out 2 star Dave Bautista is not happy about the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and he’s encouraging all other men to join women in speaking out against it. In the past, Bautista has been pretty open and outspoken with his beliefs. Those who follow him may already know that he’s a strong pro-choice supporter, having previously posted an image of himself in a T-shirt reading “Her Body Her Choice” and noting that he’s “not open to discussion” on the issue....

Disney+’s forthcoming film Disenchanted is the anticipated sequel to the much-beloved Enchanted, released over a decade ago. The film is sure to charm viewers once again with its levity and poignance, making one ask how they can achieve happily ever after. What made Enchanted such a special movie was that it set up an important premise: that there is no “happily ever after.” Happiness and meaning are always a work in progress....

In London, MyMovies.net spoke to Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s The Lord Of The Rings, about his thoughts on New Line moving ahead with The Hobbit movie, without Peter Jackson: The Hobbit is anticipated to be released in 2010. “If [Peter] ultimately doesn’t come back because of what New Line has done I think it would be a great tragedy. I think it’s ultimately quite foolish for New Line to move forward assuming they can create an equally wonderful film without Peter…and I think for that for fans that’s tragic,” Elijah told us, adding “For a long time I never kind of imagined that these movies would ever be made, so if they do get made I think they should be made by Peter....

Spider-man: No Way Home hits theatres this weekend, and despite attempts to keep the villianous lineup under wraps, there were inevitably a few leaks prior to the trailers’ confirmation. Tom Holland revealed to Yahoo! that the MCU’s original intent was to keep the returning villians a secret until the release. Sony wanted to mislead fans and make the film seem like a Spider-Man versus Doctor Strange type of conflict, The clever marketing strategy had to change course once fans spotted actor Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) outside of an Atlanta hotel, where the movie was being filmed....

David Arquette stole our hearts as Deputy Dewey Riley in the original Scream films. It was a hoot seeing him return for the fifth installment, and there always remains hope to see Arquette return to the Scream franchise in some way down the line. Now, he’s co-starring in an impactful environmental from Shout! Studios titled On Sacred Ground, which is currently in select theaters and on demand. It’s also noted for being the first narrative feature to depict the events at the Dakota Access Pipeline Protests, with a cast that also includes William Mapother, Amy Smart, Irene Bedard, and Frances Fisher....

Adding the words “… in space” to the end of any title creates immediate sci-fi imagery that’s usually pretty interesting, if easy. It’s a good descriptive tool for recommending and reviewing certain shows and films. For the new original Syfy series The Ark, one can imagine The West Wing in space — a group of people, stranded in space, try and make important democratic decisions for the crew, all while walking and talking in a very Aaron Sorkin way....
