Fast Times at Ridgemont High was a unique movie when it came out 40 years ago. The film was the first one directed by Amy Heckerling, and was based on the book Cameron Crowe had written after posing as a student at Clairemont High School, so the themes, dialogue, and style were as authentic as they could be, and it still is one of Crowe’s best films. AMC+ has released some new information on the first-ever The Walking Dead Holiday Special. The special is all set to debut on Sunday, December 13th, exclusively on the premium streaming bundle. Hosted by Chris Hardwick, the hour-long program will feature current and past cast members from The Walking Dead joining via video chat to talk about the holiday season and look back on a decade of the franchise series - from behind-the-scenes stories on set to what fans can look forward to next....

Don Mancini’s iconic horror movie series Child’s Play is getting made into a TV show. The new show will be based on the red-headed murderous doll Chucky and his franchise from the late 1980s. The franchise originally launched in 1988, and it features Chucky, a child’s doll that is possessed by the spirit of a serial killer. There have been 7 movies in the Child’s Play franchise released thus far, and more are likely on the way....

Cinemax has released the first trailer for their upcoming series The Knick which stars Clive Owen and is executive produced by Steven Soderbergh. The network hasn’t issued a premiere date for this period drama set in 1900, which centers on the doctors, nurses and staff members of the Knickerbocker Hostpital in New York City. In a story from Risky Biz Blog it seems that Producers Charles Roven (The Dark Knight) and Steve Chasman (The Transporter) will be making The Destroyer. The project is set up at Columbia. This film will bring back the ’80s action hero Remo Williams. The script will be written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides. The first books in the Destroyer series were penned by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir. They followed the character of Williams, a New Jersey police officer who is convicted of a crime he didn’t commit....

Samantha Morton’s Alpha prepares her gruesome mask in the latest trailer for AMC’s The Walking Dead. Pictures of the Whisperers leader were revealed earlier this week featuring the character in her infamous mask, and now we have a video of her putting said mask on and it’s pretty gross. Fans of the hit show have been wondering if Morton would have a bald head like her character does in the comics and the new trailer proves that she does, which should hopefully satisfy some fans....

David Cronenberg, who is best known for his iconic body horror films like The Fly and Videodrome, is returning to the genre after decades with the upcoming Crimes of the Future. The film takes place in a society where pain is a forbidden pleasure and “surgery is the new sex.” Crimes of the Future stars Viggo Mortensen, Kristen Stewart, and Léa Seydoux in the lead roles and will debut at the Cannes Film Festival later this month....

Following the show’s ninth-season finale, which debuted Sunday, Dec. 3, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring Larry David, will return to HBO for its tenth season, it was announced today by Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming. Damon Wayans is officially done with Fox’s Lethal Weapon TV series. This comes as a major blow to the show, which lost its other lead, Clayne Crawford, following a string of bad on-set behavior. It’s unclear how the network plans to address Wayans’ exit, but the actor revealed that he’ll be departing after they finish filming the first 13 episodes of season 3. The hit Netflix series Marvel’s Daredevil is getting ready for Season 3, and it seems that production will commence tomorrow. New parking notices for shoot known as “Ringside S3,” the code name for Daredevil Season 3, indicating that filming will start tomorrow, November 13. There had been reports that filming on this season would start in late October, around Halloween, but it seems that filming was pushed by a few weeks, for reasons unknown....

According to a report straight from the official Michael Rooker website, the Guardians of the Galaxy star has been added to the cast. At the present time, details regarding his role have yet to be revealed. We learned in March that Sam Strike (Nightflyers) will play Roland Deschain, aka The Gunslinger, with Jasper Paakkonen (Vikings) set to portray The Man in Black, aka Marten Broadcloak, aka Randall Flagg. So we can safely rule out Rooker taking on one of the two main lead roles....

Thanks to Stranger Things, David Harbour has been really allowed to blow up massively. Despite his more recent explosion in popularity, Harbour has been in many films over the years that have given him considerable recognition. Like many great actors, he started on Broadway, doing theater shows before moving on to do more prestige films. One of these films, in fact, was Revolutionary Road, which was able to garner a few Oscar nominations....

The Hollywood Reporter states that DreamWorks has a new CEO in Stacey Snider, who was former chairman of Universal Pictures. One of Snider’s top priorites is Steven Spielberg’s schedule, now in it’s planning stages. Snider’s current task will be finding the next picture Spielberg directs. Having made two 2005 movies back-to-back, “War of the Worlds” and “Munich,” the prolific Spielberg has not yet committed to his next film. But there are several projects on the drawing board, including an Abraham Lincoln biopic, an untitled space travel project at Paramount and a script by Rod Lurie set in the glitzy New York media world as well as “Indiana Jones 4,” which Paramount would co-finance with George Lucas’ Lucasfilm....

Screenwriter David Mirkin (The Simpsons Movie) has been hired to write the adaptation of Losing My Virginity by Virgin mogul Richard Branson. Steven Paul (Ghost Rider) acquired the rights to the book and will produce the movie along with David Mirkin. Here’s a description of the book below: A director hasn’t been attached at this time. “Oh, screw it, let’s do it.” That’s the philosophy that has allowed Richard Branson, in slightly more than twenty-five years, to spawn so many successful ventures....

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter there are some interesting updates to a bunch of DC Comics properties. At present there are currently more DC Comics adaptations happening than at any other point since the company was bought by Warner Bros. in 1969. Currently, The Losers will be starting principal photography this week in Puerto Rico. Jonah Hex just finished production in Louisiana. The Green Lantern recently reported that Ryan Reynolds will play the popular superhero....
