Disney+ (via What’s On Disney Plus) has removed James Cameron’s 2009 hit Avatar from the streaming platform’s catalog. Avatar, originally a Fox Studios production, came to Disney’s library after the latter acquired 21st Century Fox, a deal that was legally finalized in 2019. Avatar began to stream on Disney+ on the platform’s launch day and has since remained there for fans to watch. However, Disney+ has quietly removed the film from the platform; however, there is a solid reason for the move....

Furthering its strategy of delivering outstanding creative content, Robert A. Iger, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, announced today that Disney has agreed to acquire computer animation leader Pixar in an all-stock transaction, expected to be completed by this summer. Under terms of the agreement, 2.3 Disney shares will be issued for each Pixar share. Based on Pixar’s fully diluted shares outstanding, the transaction value is $7....

The latest teaser for the upcoming Marvel sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has at last officially confirmed that the superhero secret society The Illuminati will finally make their live-action big-screen debut. Titled “Time” and released courtesy of Marvel Entertainment, the footage features Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, who, just in case there had been any doubt left, refers to The Illuminati by name....

However, neither of these assumptions is entirely correct. Some documentaries are fully factual, and some narrative films are fully original, but that is not always the case. Everything Everywhere All at Once continues to stay strong at the box office. The film, starring Michelle Yeoh, connected with audiences across the country as they watched the leading lady kick and punch her way through different multiverses. But according to the Daniels (Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan), who directed the A24 hit, the script was initially written with Jackie Chan as the star! The two spoke about this decision with The Hollywood Reporter....

Three Minutes: A Lengthening features the only known images remaining of the Jewish community of Nasielsk, Poland before the Holocaust. The footage was taken by David Kurtz, grandfather of Glenn Kurtz, the author of Three Minutes in Poland: Discovering a Lost World in a 1938 Family Film which inspired the movie. Glenn spent four years researching and identifying the people in his grandfather’s footage, and he eventually found seven living survivors from the town on which his book is based....

The antihero has had four on-screen adaptations, the most successful and acclaimed being Netflix’s The Punisher which has since left the platform but will reportedly be released again on Disney+. Bourdain, a beloved author, chef and host of his very popular and acclaimed travel show, tragically passed away in June while filming an episode of Parts Unknown. Bourdain took his own life and fans as well as those in the industry who knew him have been mourning his loss ever since. CNN will do their best to honor his legacy by completing the unfinished final season of his series....

Kurt Sutter is not one to mince words. The showrunner was fired from Mayans M.C. for reportedly being too abrasive. Now, Sutter is telling his side of the story and taking shots at Disney for trying to sanitize his work. The Sons of Anarchy creator knew a huge climate change was on the way when Disney acquired Fox earlier this year. This meant things were going to get a lot harder for Sutter, who enjoys gritty storytelling with often over the top violence and language....

FX has ordered a second season of its critically acclaimed new drama series The Bridge, placing a 13-episode order for season 2, it was announced today by Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. Starring Academy Award nominee Demián Bichir and Diane Kruger, The Bridge is a present-day crime thriller exploring the tensions on the US-Mexico border. When an American judge known for her anti-immigration views is found dead on the bridge connecting El Paso and Juarez, Sonya Cross (Kruger) from El Paso PD must work with her Mexican counterpart from Chihuahua State Police, Marco Ruiz (Bichir), to catch a serial killer operating on both sides of the border....

Game of Thrones returns to television after an agonizing nineteen months. The much anticipated season eight premiere, “Winterfell”, was filled with reunions and revelations. Characters that had spent much of the series apart were brought together by the looming army of the dead. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) arrive at Winterfell, but are not welcomed by the northerners. Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) fulfills his promise to Cersei (Lena Headey)....

Chris Palmer is attached to direct A Spell for Chameleon for Warner Bros. Pictures. Wolfgang Petersen is producing via his Radiant Prods. banner along with David Benioff, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Chameleon is based on the Piers Anthony novel that kicked off his incredibly popular and long-running Xanth novel series. The story is set in the kingdom of Xanth, where everyone has magical powers, and centers on a young man who is exiled for having none....

Warner Bros. is hoping to land The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan for The Twilight Zone. Michael Bay and Alfonso Cuarón are also considered top candidates for the job, but Christopher Nolan is believed to be the front runner. We reported last October that screenwriter Jason Rothenberg is writing The Twilight Zone with Rand Ravich, although there has been no movement on the project since then.
