Fox has picked up Golden Globe Award winner Brooklyn Nine-Nine, along with critically acclaimed comedies The Mindy Project and New Girl, for the 2014-15 season. Psychological thriller The Following also was renewed, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, and Joe Earley, Chief Operating Officer, Fox Broadcasting Company, who released the following joint statement. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was picked up for a second season. The Mindy Project received a third season order, and New Girl was renewed for a fourth season....

FOX has ordered a 13th season of the late-night comedy series MadTV, which airs Saturdays (11:00 PM-Midnight ET/PT) on FOX. “MadTV continues to be a Saturday night staple, especially among younger audiences,” said Todd Yasui, senior vice president, late night programming, for FOX. “We’re happy to bring it back for another season of biting satire.” The Emmy-nominated series, best known for its dead-on celebrity impersonations and movie and television parodies, is a Late Night leader among Teens....

Ever since it was revealed of Crunchyroll’s merger with Funimation, the anime streaming giant has slowly been adding in the former’s library into their own. This included dubs, a new format, and now they’re branching into movies! The company announced during Crunchyroll Expo 2022 that classic anime movies such as Akira, Your Name, and more will be coming to their library as early as this month! As of now, the current release dates can be viewed below (though are subject to change and can vary in availability based on region)....

Star Wars series star Daisy Ridley has secured her next big role. Per Deadline, Ridley is set to star in The Christie Affair, a series adaptation of Nina de Gramont’s best-selling novel of the same name which was published by St. Martin’s Press earlier this year. Ridley is also serving as an executive producer on the project while Miramax TV will be producing and serving as the studio. Juliette Towhidi (Calendar Girls, Death comes to Pemberley) is penning the script for the live-action series....

Daniel Radcliffe will take the lead in The Woman in Black, Hammer Films and Alliance Films hotly anticipated adaptation of Susan Hill’s best-selling novel, it was announced today by Simon Oakes and Nigel Sinclair of Exclusive and Hammer. To be directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) and written by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass) The Woman in Black follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote corner of the UK and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers....

Last week, we were teased with the return of Johnny Galecki’s David Healy to the Roseanne revival series, and now, we know a little bit more about why he’s back in a new clip promoting tomorrow night’s episode. David’s deceased brother Mark was brought up for the first time in the new series last week, so it seems natural that David would be making his return the following week. Galecki’s busy schedule with The Big Bang Theory reportedly kept him from being on the show in a more permanent basis....

Ezra Miller has remained in the headlines throughout their eventful summer, and they are returning to the spotlight once again. According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Miller and their agent, Scott Metzger, met with Warner Bros. film chairs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy to discuss how The Flash stays on track for its June 23, 2023 release date. Not only was the release date examined, but De Luca and Abdy received a formal apology from Miller as they reaffirmed their commitment to The Flash and the overall DCEU franchise and took the blame for the bad publicity brought to the film and Warner Bros....

Another big name has joined the star-studded cast of Fast X, the tenth and penultimate installment of the Fast and Furious movie series. The film is currently in production, though a hiatus was taken after director Justin Lin wound up leaving the project. With the film moving forward with new director Louis Leterrier, the cast has also been expanded with Reacher star Alan Ritchson signing on to appear in a prominent role, as originally reported by Deadline....
