Filmmaker Billy Corben tells this tale of drug smuggling and distribution, using talking heads and giving us a multilayered look at how a part of the U.S. was not only changed, but turned upside down. We begin with John Pernell Roberts who gives us a somewhat simplistic account of his life as a cocaine wholesaler....

The ABC Television Network announces the return of hit series Dancing with the Stars with a two-hour premiere on Monday, March 19 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET). It seems that an old dog can be revitalized. In a story from Fangoria, they recently caught up with legendary director Dario Argento on the set of his highly anticipated film, The Third Mother. Finishing up his Supernatural Trilogy (the first in this set were Suspira and Inferno) the The Third Mother is again based on Thomas De Quincey’s Confessions of an Opium Eater legend of three evil mothers. A new spinoff to Vice TV’s Dark Side franchise has just been announced. Originally, the franchise kicked off with the pro wrestling-focused docuseries Dark Side of the Ring, an acclaimed series that delves into some of pro wrestling history’s darkest and most tragic moments. That show was later given two spinoffs with Dark Side of the 90s as well as Dark Side of Football having also since arrived. Next, the network will introduce Dark Side of Comedy, and you can watch a teaser trailer below....

It’s official. The upcoming season of Desperate Housewives will be it’s last. ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee announced his decision to end Desperate Housewives this season along with the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, who both spoke at the TCA press tour on Sunday. Discussions of whether to end with the conclusion of the coming eighth season or go for a ninth had been going on between Marc Cherry and Paul Lee for a year....

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor Edward James Olmos joins recently announced special guest stars, Colin Hanks and Mos (formerly Mos Def) in the cast of the Emmy nominated Showtime drama series Dexter for Season 6. Olmos will play a brilliant, charismatic professor of religious studies. Olmos joins a distinguished list of seasonal guest cast that has included Jimmy Smits, John Lithgow and Julia Stiles. Production on Dexter begins May 25 in Los Angeles and will premiere on Showtime this fall....

DC League of Super-Pets may not have had a heroic box office debut, but reviews have been positive and that was something Dwayne Johnson wanted to celebrate on his social media accounts. Johnson reacted to the support the new animated movie, in which he voices Krypto, the dog of Superman, which has gained an A- grade with Cinemascore. Arriving in cinemas on July 29, the film grossed $23 million domestically, leading to the top spot at the box office despite that figure being much lower than other animated features such as Lightyear and Minions: Rise of Gru....

Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will adapt the 1983 Pamela Sargent novel Earthseed for Paramount Pictures. The story is set in a future where humans are looking to find a new planet to live on. An expedition entitled Ship transports genetically-engineered teenagers who were born without parents. They are given a simulated Earth environment called Hollow to see if they can survive, although tensions between the groups leads to all-out fighting. Here’s what Melissa Rosenberg had to say about the story....
