The most beloved true crime series of them all is getting a revival, as HLN has announced the sequel series Forensic Files II will premiere on the network early next year. If you’ve binged through every episode of the compelling true crime stories Forensic Files, this will no doubt be very exciting to know. The news comes straight from an announcement trailer released by HLN on social media, which also reveals the show’s return as coming in February 2020....

The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted last night to present the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award to producer-director Francis Ford Coppola and Honorary Awards to historian and preservationist Kevin Brownlow, director Jean-Luc Godard and actor Eli Wallach. All four awards will be presented at the Academy’s 2nd Annual Governors Awards dinner on Saturday, November 13, at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center....

Captain America and The Purge actor Frank Grillo will be headlining the new werewolf horror action film Year 2, which has been a hot seller for The Solution Entertainment Group at this year’s European Film Market. Since signing with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for representation in 2019, Grillo, whose career was already doing pretty, has become one of the hottest actors on the market. According to Screen Daily, in Year 2, Grillo will play scientist Wesley Marshall, a man racing against time to save his family from werewolves....

Disney+ has released the trailer for Once Upon a Snowman. The animated short will premiere October 23rd, exclusively on Disney+. Frozen fans are about to learn all about Olaf’s origins in this spinoff of the popular franchise. Josh Gad has come back to provide the voice of Olaf, who is on a mission to discover who he really is. Once Upon a Snowman is done in the same computer animation style as the first two Frozen movies and it should be a welcome holiday distraction for Disney fans....

Saturday Night Live returns with original shows starting April 10 with Tina Fey returning to studio 8H, and musical guest Justin Bieber. Emmy-winner Tina Fey takes her second turn at hosting on April 10. Fey is executive producer, head writer and star of NBC’s three-time Emmy Award-winning comedy series 30 Rock and currently stars in the feature film, “Date Night,” with Steve Carell out April 9. Prior to creating 30 Rock, Fey completed nine seasons as head writer, cast member and co-anchor of the “Weekend Update” segment on NBC’s Saturday Night Live....

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will star in a remake of the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock classic, To Catch a Thief. Deadline has reported that the project will be written by Prodigal Son and Lethal Weapon scribe Eileen Jones, with Gadot on board not only to lead but to produce alongside her partner Jaron Varsano through their Pilot Wave Banner. While plot details for the remake of To Catch a Thief are unknown at this time, we can no doubt ascertain clues from the original....

HBO is sticking to its same secretive ways that they used when Game of Thrones Season 6 was in production, now that Season 7 has begun filming. The network has yet to confirm any new cast members at this time, or any other plot details quite yet. Today we have a new report which reveals that three separate filming locations may be used for the same place, along with a tantalizing detail that could hint at a powerful new alliance forming in Westeros....

The Good The lush visual style of this movie translates very well to the PSP format. It is very well compressed. The Bad I know this film made a lot of money but it really is garbage. Charlie’s Angels is one of those films I saw in the theater and then got angry when people told me they were going to see it later. “Why would they waste their time?” I thought....

After having appeared in three solo movies and four Avengers films, you would be forgiven for thinking playing Thor must be the easiest job in the world for Chris Hemsworth. However, in a recent interview, the actor explained how every time he plays the role, he has to reinvent the God of Thunder in some way so audiences don’t get bored of him. With Thor: Love and Thunder being his eighth movie, Hemsworth is starting to think that perhaps his time in the MCU is coming to an end....

Fans will forever debate who the greatest Batman of all time really is, but once again, Christian Bale stands tall in a popular fan poll. GameSpot recently polled 292,254 people asking them to name the best Batman of all time with the options being Adam West, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Christian Bale. Batman and Robin star George Clooney isn’t listed, though he’s widely considered to be the least popular incarnation of Batman, which is probably why he was excluded....

Exciting news today for fans of the Coen Brothers. Their recently announced series The Ballad of Buster Scruggs has found a home. It will premiere next year on Netflix. And apparently Joel and Ethan are quite ecstatic about the news. This will be the legendary filmmaking brothers’ first ever TV series. It’s an anthology set in the West, and it will feature longtime collaborator Tim Blake Nelson in the lead....

Comedy Central has reached individual agreements with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to extend the contracts of the hosts of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, it was announced today by Michele Ganeless, president, Comedy Central. Stewart’s contract extension with Comedy Central will keep him at the helm of The Daily Show through June 2013. He will continue to serve as executive producer, writer and host....

This one had a lot of strikes going against it before I even hit play on the DVD player. It’s about dolls which is a losing cliche every time and frankly, from the previews, it looked straight outta the Tillamook cheese factory. But it actually started out to be pretty good. The story was a very simple “ghost wants revenge” tale with all of the classic American Horror accoutrement that goes with it - misty graveyards, creepy abandoned buildings, whispers and shadows, etc....
