Fox kicked off San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday with a panel for its highly-anticipated new sitcom Ghosted, with the Ghosted season premiere set for Sunday, October 1 at 8:30 PM ET, sandwiched in between the network’s hit animated lineup with The Simpsons Season 29 Premiere at 8 PM ET and the Family Guy Season 15 Premiere at 9 PM ET. In an unprecedented event, Fox will stream the premieres of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe exclusively for on-campus college students at Fox.com. Only students on college campuses accessing through a college internet domain (.edu) will have the opportunity to watch the episodes online simultaneously with their primetime premieres. There are few movie stars who will ever enjoy the success that Will Smith enjoyed at one point in his career. Yes, he is still a movie star, especially with Suicide Squad set for a huge opening this weekend. After more than 20 years as a blockbuster marquee name though, everyone still associates Smith with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Hollywood is pretty reboot happy these days, but in a recent interview, Smith pretty much crushed any hope that a Fresh Prince reboot will ever happen....

Searchlight Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming comedy-slash-horror flick, Fresh. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan, Fresh takes the pitfalls and hurdles found in online dating and seeking romance to the extreme, as Noa meets a seemingly charming man, Steve, who harbors a sinister secret. After setting up what appears to be a fairly run-of-the-mill romantic comedy about a somewhat cynical woman and her struggle in finding real, fulfilling love within this modern world of quick, cold rejection and swiping left and right, the trailer for Fresh suddenly becomes something else entirely....

In the most recent episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, released for streaming on Disney+, “Just Jen,” the eponymous attorney is invited to a wedding for her friend Lulu (Patti Harrison). While this does constitute an allusion to the world of comics, this time, it does not refer to something that originated within the panels of a Marvel Comics title, no matter how obscure (re: Luke Jacobson). Instead, the bride’s name, Lulu, alludes to the Friends of Lulu, an important real-life organization with a legacy that changed comics with a simple message: comics are for everyone – including women!...

Last June we reported that brand new episodes of the animated series Futurama were going to be aired sometime this year on Comedy Central and now we know exactly when. HitFix is reporting that Comedy Central will begin airing these brand new Futurama episodes starting on Thursday, June 24 at 10 PM ET. Back in July we also reported that the show would receive a 26-episode order of new original episodes and that the entire original voice cast - Katey Segal, Billy West, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille - were returning to the show....

Blake Leibel, one of the directors behind Spaceballs: The Animated Series, has sold his latest script Psychopomp to Children of Men producer Hilary Shor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence Longo will co-produce this project through Fantasy Prone as a transmedia intellectual property. The story revolves around Psychopomp, a profanity spewing madman who travels in and out of international hot spots looking to kill anyone who goes against his personal code of conduct, often using state-of-the-art weaponry and the latest technology to take them down....

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, will be released to IMAX theatres simultaneously with the film’s wide release in conventional theatres on July 16, 2010. The film marks the third IMAX project for Christopher Nolan, following the record-breaking IMAX release of The Dark Knight, which grossed more than $65 million at IMAX theatres. Inception, a contemporary sci-fi action film set within the architecture of the mind, will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with IMAX DMR technology....

Back in 2004, Thomas Jane starred in Lionsgate’s The Punisher, a reboot of the popular Marvel Comics character which failed to make a dent in theaters, taking in just $33 million at the domestic box office. Eight years later, the actor is back as Frank Castle in the short film The Punsher: Dirty Laundry, that made its debut Saturday night at San Diego Comic-Con. Today we have the entire 10-minute short, that also stars Ron Perlman, and was directed by Phil Joanou....

Empire was on hand at London’s Movie-Con, where, over the weekend, director Danny Boyle discussed his upcoming film 127 Hours, which debuts in American theaters nationwide on November 5. Gillian Anderson may have made it clear that she really don’t want to make another return to The X-Files in any way, co-star David Duchovny is more open to reprising his role if creator Chris Carter had the right story. The X-Files originally started in 1993 and became one of the biggest sci-fi series of the decade. It’s going to be a one and done deal for Daybreak on Netflix, as the streamer has canceled the show after just one season. Since debuting back in October, the future of the show wasn’t clear, though fans had been holding out hope for a series renewal announcement from Netflix. Unfortunately, the bad news of its cancellation was confirmed by series co-creator Aron Coleite, who posted a statement from the Daybreak team on Twitter....

Lost’s M.C. Gainey is in negotiations to play Big John Brittle in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, starring Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio. M.C. Gainey will play one of the overseers of the Carrucan Plantation, who rapes Django’s wife, Broomhilda, before branding Django’s cheek with the letter ‘R,’ which stands for ‘runaway.’ Jamie Foxx stars as Django and Christoph Waltz plays Dr. King Schultz, a German bounty hunter tracking Big John and his two brothers in order to collect a large reward....

The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness director Sam Raimi will soon put his stamp on the Marvel franchise with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and you better believe he will be bringing a “flavor” of horror to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Fandango, Raimi, who is, of course, a celebrated horror director, teased how the Doctor Strange sequel will differ from the rest of the MCU, calling the movie the first Marvel outing with “an element of horror....

Recently, Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence was in an episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors. In this episode, she was talking with another Academy Award winner, Viola Davis, and her role in The Hunger Games came up. Lawrence said, “I remember when I was doing Hunger Games, nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn’t work—we were told girls and boys can both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead....

Breaking Bad fans rejoice as AMC will finally be airing El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Last year, in one of the biggest surprises in all of entertainment, series creator Vince Gilligan revealed that he had shot a follow-up movie to his beloved TV show that follows Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman after the events of the series finale. Now, the network that brought us Breaking Bad in the first place has set a premiere date for the movie, which will follow a five-week marathon....

Mean Girls director Mark Waters and Hostel: Part II director Eli Roth will serve as the next two guest judges alongside regulars Carrie Fisher and Garry Marshall on FOX’s moviemaking competition series On the Lot.
