Award-winning actress Dianne Wiest will have a recurring role on The Return of Jezebel James, the new Amy Sherman-Palladino comedy premiering midseason on FOX. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dimension Films will distribute the remake of the 1978 horror hit, Piranha, being produced by Mark Canton from Atmosphere MM and Marc Toberoff from Intellectual Properties Worldwide. The company picked up rights to U.S. and all English-speaking territories from IPW, Atmosphere/Relativity Media and Wild Bunch. Marvel has released a new TV spot for Eternals, teasing the end of an era and the beginning of another. The aptly titled featurette, “Beginnings,” sees Marvel’s cosmic humanoids, aka the Eternals, banding together to save humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. Producer Adi Shankar is moving forward on an untitled action-thriller in the same vein as this weekend’s The Expendables 2, only with an all-female cast. Screenwriter Dutch Southern has come aboard to write the script. No story details were given, except that it will be inspired by Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables franchise. Adi Shankar will produce through his 1984 Private Defense Contractors company, which is also fully financing the project. The company has financed recent movies such as The Grey, Machine Gun Preacher, Killing Them Softly, and Broken City....

The miniseries is based on Sheri Fink’s 2013 nonfiction book Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital which documents the events that transpired at Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.
